Featured Pakistan Navy Type 054AP Frigates - Update, News & Discussion

True but the PN could have said via the MoDP that production started, even without disclosing the location or specific completion dates. But it didn't.
Be patient, and no news is a good news in China.

I am hoping the design incorporates VL cells - for deploying long range land-attack missiles and not the (pseudo) second-strike capable Babur-3.
I just can't get over how weirdly different the Hangor looks from the S26.

Just look at the grills on the side of the hull, and those weird hatches behind the conning tower. These characteristics aren't on the S26T nor on the Type 041 Yuan.

The MILGEM is proof that the PN is actually willing to alter the design of a proven platform (e.g., VLS), so I hope it's something similar with the Hangor. Moreover, the fact that its production is a secret (for an export submarine) could be an interesting sign in of itself.

I'm hoping for VLS and fuel cell AIP.

Just a movie...

Even is it’s able to defend against half or 1/4 th the number it’s still impressive

The only thing is it will be detected way far ahead and engaged starting 3-4 km range and not 100 meter inwards

They announced laying the keel for Thailand's S26T.

https://amp.scmp.com/news/china/mil...lder-starts-work-us411-million-submarine-thai

It's increasingly looking like the Hangor isn't a standard S20/S26 submarine, especially with secrecy of this level around it.
The submarine project is called Project 420 in China. CSIC had held working meetings for that project on October 12, 2016, and June 12, 2017, respectively.
And PN also visited the design unit (701) on July 6, 2018.
Everything goes well.

It kind of makes little sense for a project to be super secretive as you are suggesting and then to have accurate models on display.

No. Just 4 more Jinnah class and upgrade the 054A/Ps with long range SAMs.
Better to go for the Improved Type O52D destroyers, rather than trying to squeeze so much into the Type 054A design. The improved Type 052D leaves room for better sensors and heavier weapons then the Type 054A can be reasonable expected to carry.

we should try to acquire 2 Type 052D in the next 7-10 years, by which time we will have absorbed and expanded our force projection capabilities with the induction of the ADAs and Type 054A and can move on to improving our capabilities. It will allow Chinese weapons and sensors to mature even further in terms of counter-stealth.

Are u suggesting these three are vls? Perhaps to carry cj-10 type missile or tomahawk type land attack missiles which were speculated in the past

Specs of 2800 tons seem similar to s-26 speed is less 10 knots? Agosta is 20 plus knots submerged and 12 knots on surface

Nope, I am not suggesting that. My wish for VLS is just a wish, I don't know what the 3 hatches are. I think KSEW didn't disclose all of the specs, esp. max speed.

Comparing it with torpedo tubes of at least 533 mm look too small and also would not to that close to main structure any way anything is a possible

In the past claimed that pn wanted a sub with sub launch cruise /ballistic missile capability but can be accomplish via torpedo tubes but penalty of extra weigh and volume of extra external canister for water clearance
