Navy does not need large number of aircrafts so developing one in house is going to be cost prohibitive. Therefore it is better to buy off the shelf products.

Leonardo att-72 upgrade is different than pn German based upgrade some equipment may be different but looks like main radar is same

Now that was quick.

PN happy with the upgrade and the speed of work by RAS. Chances of a third ATR to be sent for upgrade very much possible.
