Yes, PN must have at least 4 ships in class and capabilities of Type-54A.



Why PN want larger version of F-22P when they can have much better Type-54A customized as per their needs, also later is modern hull design then prior one because F-22Ps are based on older Type-53.

F-22P are an adaptation of the Type 053H3 frigates but include elements of theType 054 frigates as well. So its a hybrid, only downside was its SAMs which if they can correct in a newer version then it will be just as capable. Pakistani Navy is a defensive force, a larger frigate will have more endurance but same capabilities so doesnt need the larger ships to project power.

As for ordering more, maybe its more feasible since we already built the last ship lat F-22P in Karachi, since TOT is already done. All new ships could be build in Karachi shipyard.

We need at least 4 bigger vessels than the F22's----like the 054's and then 2 aegis class the 052's---. The defensive navy needs to have enough fangs to defend---.

Well this is a media report and we cannot be sure if it will be 100% same boat or a modified with better air defense capability as many here want. Remember the submarine saga??? all news papers reported PN going for Chinese sub,, and they mentioned almost all the subs available with chines one time or another,, it started with Yuan, then improved Yuan, QING, S20 and what not!! so relax and let the actual deal signed and details come out.

If we amateurs here can feel that PN needs frigates that are bigger and with better air defense capability,, PN surely wold have figured that out already!!!

You would not know how fcuked up our air force and navy maybe---. The screw ups of the air force are well known---for the navy---not so much---because they have not been given the opportunity to prove that either.

VLS and AESA radar are needed if we are ordering more F-22P's. We need atleast 10 of these to have decent defensive capability. More importantly the first batch of 4 should also be upgraded to the new standard as well.

What do you think about this, is it realistic or not?

Could be possible and should be done as well but this would require some heavy spending. However I think it should be 6 Yuan class subs and by that time Augosta 70s would be decommissioned.
