Note the aircraft in the background, rather than the drone.... that looks suspiciously like a P3B with Hawkeye AEW set!

Or....

is it an ex-US Customs P2B, now operated by US Department of Homeland Security (if so, what is it doing in Pakistan?)

.
I think now Chinese ones are being considered and it will be good as their technology would be secretive as well as cheap to buy and maintain.

yes 3 systems worth US$900m. it also passed congress 30 day notification. but nothing happened.

.
@ Penguin, that's not in Pakistan.May be in Afghanistan.

.
I think PN might go for 3-5 Chinese AEW&Cs that would have some similarity with the MPAs they are producing in near future which is on PN list as well.

.
AEW&CS and MPAs both have a huge Difference in technology.
PN should explore option on Atlantic MPAs Germany/ Portugal could be approached.

.
There were options available to upgrade PN's existing fleet of Atlantique MPA but were rejected due to excessive maintenance cost and availability of more P3Cs through FMS program.

I don't know it is in Pakistan. I do know that the picture was shown on this board accompanying an article about a US drone striking and killing 15 in North Waziristan. So ask whoever wrote US drone strike kills 15 in North Waziristan | Pakistan Defence for this board.

The Lockheed Martin P-3 AEW Orion used by US Customs/Homeland Security was developed using ex-Royal Australian Air Force and US Navy P-3B airframes, combined with the APS-125 Radar and Mission System (later retrofitted with an APS-138 system) from the United States Navy E-2 Hawkeye carrier-borne AEW&C aircraft. The United States Customs Service, which is at this time the sole user of the P-3 AEW, took delivery of the first one in 1988 and since 1993 has been operating a fleet of four aircraft for counter-narcotics missions in the US particularly over the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean.

Pakistan requested a similar (but not the same) system for 2 of it's P3Cs.

US Congress has been notified of the proposed sale of three ex-US Navy Lockheed P-3Cs equipped with the AEW mission system from Northrop's E-2C Hawkeye 2000. This includes the Lockheed-built APS-145 radar and rotodome. The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency flies P-3Bs equipped with APS-138 and -145 AEW radars, but this would be the first time that the P-3C would be combined with the current production Hawkeye 2000 mission system
Pakistan offered AEW Lockheed Martin P-3C Orions

. . . .
This plance has come as replacement of those which were damaged or those have been already replaced and this one is other than those planes ?
