Now that you all have beaten up the drum, lets talk about serious analysis.

The snorkel mast, ESM/Comms mast, and search periscope are up. From the shape, it is likely to be a kilo class. The method of detection is likely to be a iSAR radar on P3, queued by Star Safire II FLIR, video of which you see in WHOT / contrast mode.

This method is what we call "war patrol." Since submarines are the only true offensive arm, the deployment of submarines during peacetime is always in the enemy waters in predetermined locations. This is either an intelligence failure, where the location has been compromised and PN assets have picked it up, or this is a submarine in technical repair, hence it has raised the snorkel mast to charge its batteries or get propulsion assist. No submariner is stupid, and I don't think the Indians are either. Traversing the water with the masts up creates a wake (you can see it in the video) and you can see it 60 NM in the air on FLIR.

Regardless, this is the Sub CO saying, don't shoot, i am in trouble and leaving. The propaganda people can say whatever for or against it.
finally some sense.

.
If it was being tracked for last 4-5 days as the press release says , then it is highly unlikely that it was able to achieve its objectives whatever those were.

What if, its mission was just intelligence gathering ?

Recoding Pakistani Sonar frequencies. Intercepting VHF radio communications, estimating Pakistan navy's response time.

We atleast know, the above submarine was lurking around Pakistani coastal water at-least more than five day now, that is more than enough time.

So be it. I am pretty sure that similar missions are carried out by Pakistan navy as well. The point here is that Indian sub couldnt keep itself undetected and that should be a worry to for Indian navy.

Regardless, this was a missed opportunity for the Pakistani Navy. Remember the Atlantique incident? The Indians did not shy away from going for the kill even in very murky areas. They did so under similar circumstances when tensions were high. If this submarine was in Pakistani waters and it went back in one piece, then that's a mighty missed opportunity.
Not at all. No point in escalation as that would be playing into India's hands. They are getting proper response at tactical level and that should be enough.

Perhaps, but we are yet to hear of it.

If the mission objectives of the submarine included,

To check for Pakistan Navy's response times and procedures, meaning which aircrafts or vessels Pakistan navy will respond with, at what range, or in how much time.

It would have been essential for Indian submarine to openly declare itself, and snorkel and sail on surface, while breaching Pakistani territorial waters, like it apparently did.
