Fast Attack Craft (Missile)
Construction of Fast Attack Craft, FAC(M) No 4, was started on 09 Dec 2016 with steel cutting and subsequently keel laying was performed on 30 Mar 20174.

This ship is a state of the art, multi mission corvette having a length and breadth of 63 m and 8.8 m, respectively. The design draught of the ship is 2.46 m and displacement of 560 tons. The ship has maximum speed of 30 knots and a range of 1000 Nautical Miles. This ship is propelled by 04 Diesel Engines, 04 Propulsion Shafts with Fixed Pitch Propellers. The ship carries surface to surface missiles, 25 mm gun, CIWS, surface search and tracking radars. It has a stealthier design with state of the art combat system. The third vessel is an improved version compared to earlier vessels and will carry indigenous weapon system. The ship is being built under Chinese Classification Society Rules.

This ship is the lastest version of PNS HIMMAT from which Pakistan Navy tested Harbah cruise missile.

There are currently 5 ongoing ship building projects in Karachi Shipyard and Engineering. 2 ships are being made for CPEC patrolling one project belongs to PA the other 2 projects are logistics based and one is of fast attack crafts. this one is about to be completed don't know the time frame or numbers but work is going fast on these vessels.

No info on how many they plan to build either. This is an ingenious work so they can build as many as they want but these crafts are small and fast so If PN has opted for them they are going to go in numbers. I think they will go for more than 4 or 5. Each previous one has 6 anti ship loaded missiles in three tube configuration which are now Harbah missiles. May be this ship will have more missiles in four tube configuration. Because putting such long range missile on a fast attack craft I think PN is trying to get a capability of taking out target from beyond range of engagement and they escaping the area quick. These ships seem to part of PN offensive strategy.
