this is very sensitive data that was leaked online, the Australian picked it up and redacted some bits (if youre an intelligence service, you can find the original doc somewhere :dirol:)

'' According to “The Australian”, the data includes 4457 pages on the submarine’s underwater sensors, 4209 pages on its above-water sensors, 4301 pages on its combat management system, 493 paes on its torpedo launch system and specifications, 6841 pages on the submarine’s communications system and 2138 pages on its navigation systems. Actually it has turned out to be data for Malaysia and Chile's Scorpene submarines and not India's. The data in the leaked document is different from the data in Indian Navy's documents on Scorpene

An well-informed navy officer avers that the documents leaked by the Melbourne daily do not tally with the Scorpene documentation DCNS provided to India. “Our analysis suggests the leaked documents relate to the Scorpenes in service with Malaysia and Chile. There is also data relating to the Mistral helicopter carrier vessel that Russia is buying. But, the documents we hold are different”, he says.

Detecting subs is regular business for all navies, it's made a big deal here because of the low bar for success.
Considering the strength of Indian Navy fleet, I don't think anyone will dare to challenge India's ownership of the Indian Ocean.
and your signature.... oh the irony.

This sub was inducted into IN just months ago and is under familiarisation exercise with IN personnel's. It's literally under training. And not even trying to get submerged. If war is done using Propaganda, Chinese and Pakistanis would win it hands down.

I am pretty sure the submarine was travelling openly and had no intention to submerge as it was on a "Show of Might" mission and wanted to be seen by Pakistanis.

Indian Navy frequently carries out Show of Might missions with Kolkata class destroyers and Scorpene submarines to intimidate adversaries.
Man, indians are khalai makhloukh...

Either IN is extremely stupid for giving up the acoustic signature of their submarines or they're cooking something !

Since Pakistan has detected this for the 4th time, PN should know the acoustic signatures of it perfectly making it basically a useless sub in war?

I am thinking if North Korean, Iranian, Russian, Or Chinese submarines involved and found in some other country's zone, how would be the reaction or whining of this racist/hypocrites side of the world could be.
The so-called 'civilized part of the world' which is also the champion of democracy and peace didn't pay any heed to Indian 'rights of violation' - I am surprised.
Such dual standards made the world more unsafe. The same standards fueled the Russian and Ukrainian differences and resulted in an armed conflict - now human lives from both countries are at stake and USA/West is enjoying the situation.
Divided standards on identical issues and peace don't go hand in hand.

Kalvari class sub is a scorpene class right?

What sort of advantages/disadvantages does it have over our A-90B and soon to be inducted Hangor Class submarine (if possible)

@iLION12345_1 @Bilal Khan (Quwa)
The biggest right now would be AIP. The Scorpenes are actually not as good as one might think given how recently they were commissioned, why? Because they are an early 2000s design. The construction for these submarines started in 2006 and the first one wasn’t completed until 2017. That’s how slow the Indians built them, and the AIP System for them is still not ready. So it’s technologically comparable to the 90B series (at least they were before the 90Bs got modernized, now the 90Bs are likely considerably better), and they don’t have AIP on top of that. The scorpene might have some endurance and weapons related advantages but nothing that stands out.

As for the Hangor, they’re much larger vessels and hence not directly comparable to the Scorpene, so it’s an apples to oranges thing, they’ll definitely be more capable.

Why dont we seizes it?
Because it's in EEZ, international waters. All EEZ does is gives the nation it belongs to the right to the mineral deposits and exclusive fishing rights. There are Merchant ships, other nations navy ships & subs that use these areas to travel openly under freedom of navigation.
