What's new

Pakistan Navy commandos training on a US ship

It’s clear these are Naval SSG based on information provided by the original uploader. In most cases, the training being provided like how to hold gun, take position etc are very basic aspects and the SSGN should have known about these stuff. Finally, they are being trained by the US Coast Guard which is not even a military force. This is very surprising.

.
They were trainees and there to learn. The ship was a new environment for them and the US CG Special Operations was teaching them THEIR methods and techniques which was new for these trainees.

It's common, look up any joint-training. Watch videos on Russian soldiers doing the SSG climbing exercises at Cherat - they were clumsy as well, because it was new to them.

. . . .
What a disgrace. This country truly has no self respect.
No mate, there is no harm in training with them... you are getting valuable experience. If they are your friends it is good and if they are your enemies, it is even better. We need to be smart and not emotional and sentimental kids, whatever works for Pakistan is good.

Practice makes perfect nothing to loose here but to gain.
100% agreed.

I know I know. But it just pisses me off seeing us and them together.

Sir learn some diplomacy... See how the hindu Modi is able to fool both UAE and KSA... despite being sworn enemy of Islam and his RSS has claims and aims for Mecca and Ka'aba but still it does not stop him from benefitting the idiots of GCC.

My humble observations based upon some experience of working with US Army during training:

1. Average intelligence level of a grunt vs. a typical soldier from this part of the world is higher.
2. Adoption to complex tactical equipment is higher in a typical US soldier.
3. Training levels are much higher due to higher budgets as compared to what we have access to in terms finances.
4. Training is more versatile due to global reach.
5. A system of learning and putting things down in writing, at all levels, is prevalent in US Armed forces that results in more practical and upto date Field Instruction Manuals and passing on field experience is a continueous process.
6. Going by the book is prevlent vs. us cutting corners results in better quality of training.
7. Seriousness of the officer cadre towards training and understanding of their benifits results in a more robust training regimen and hence a better trained soldier.

Overall, field experience, acutal combat in varied environments and against array of "enemies," its after action analysis, incorporating that experience into instruction manuals and exercises, and institutionlize the learninig cycle coupled with larger training budgets has made US Army one of the most trained armies of the world.

I am not the one doing diplomacy :partay:! That's up to the Pak Government. I am just sharing my thoughts on a forum. And my thoughts about the US and Pak working together after our history is 'yuk, we're disgraceful'. Just my 2 cents.

  • Also the US troop is more acustomed to Technology , Expensive Cell Phones or Tablets and such tech is common in all High schools
  • Better Nutritional Aspect i.e Weight Training / Size Fitness Training
  • Guns Legal like candy in USA , so they likely have held gun before joining Military
  • Less Numbers = More focused Training
  • Educational Differences also make some impact as some Pakistani Soldiers might be not at same level i.e Foot soldiers etc
  • Most US soldiers are already participants in active Sports Ameture level in Schools so they are not afraid (Wrestling school, MMA , or other sport), while Pakistani Soldier came from the Sugar Cane farm who coincidently applied for Military. US troops are thur better prepared already , as the Sugar Cane farmer turn soldier might be feeling out of place

However all these aspects are fixable by Local Leadership development strategies and removing shyness or awkwardness from soldier

For Pakistani Troops , Fitness / Nutritional improvements are key

So you're saying US coast guards have no standard or quality?

In American context, the coast guard are essentially a paramilitary force. Imagine your premier commandos being trained by a paramilitary force!

But to be fair, the MSRT is an elite commando unit and it’s members sometimes serve alongside the Navy SEALS. They are distinguished group when it comes to counterterrorism and seaborne operations.

Well that's what I was looking for... Thank you..

So finally I managed to get the truth out of you.. Thank you..

Not necessarily. For example, the Light Commando Battalions in your army sometimes fight alongside your SSG. What would the reaction be if the premier commandos of another country were put in such humiliating situation by your LBC? This is a genuine question without ulterior motives. Such arrangements have to be avoided to maintain the morale of your SSGN. If the aim is to cross train them with other special operations, then you can reach arrangements with other countries to have certain number of your SSGN train for multiple months with them. This way they gain proper tactics. But I believe your SSGN is self-sufficient and don’t need outside training. Which makes the videos posted above all the more strange
