Pakistan minister vows to revise blasphemy law

TS, I actually feel sorry for you! And that is only due to your lack of knowledge, nothing personal.

Thank you for your sympathy. We all like to feel like victims. It helps us to avoid difficult actions. Inshallah! And, to reciprocate, I feel sorry for you as well. As an Anglo-German American living my whole life in post-WWII USA , I have not had damage done to my self-esteem by having to accept an inferior status in the world. I have failed to appreciate just how deep is the psychic wound suffered by many peoples from post-colonial countries. Of course the USA is also a post-colonial nation but that was 200 years ago and the USA has had a great many successes since then to assuage any resentment we may have felt against the British for the first century after our independence. Obviously this is not the case for many peoples whose independence from European powers has occurred only since WWII. So, while I may see many US actions as unharmful, minor "meddling", such peoples may see them as very grave interferences. Even foreign aid, a form of international welfare, does not help build self-esteem. So, henceforth, I will ignore the rampant xenophobia exhibited by many posters here. I'll chalk it up to lingering, post-colonial hyper-sensitivity........

PS, the USA has not played a major role in foreign colonizations and domination. Not a zero role, but not one that rivals Britain, France, Spain, Germany, Russia, Portugal, Netherlands, Japan or Italy, either. Also, the USA did not participate in the Christian Crusades of the 11th - 13th Centuries. The foreign meddling that the USA has done is primarily a result of the Cold War with Communism and the USA's unfortunate categorical support for the State of Israel. The present WoT is a corollary to our support of Israel.
