The issue is few villages in balochistan. They exist on border.
They cannot be uprooted easily.
Pakistan army is constantly taking with them. For pakistan side to relocate inside pakistan.
And on Afghanistan side to move 1 km away from the fence.
For that you have to negotiate and then pay money for that.
It would take time.
And also many elements would try to. Disrupt it too saying we have lived together forever and blah blah shit.
Wait. They said they would largely complete it by 2020. And they have fenced all the land, mountains and stuff.

But you must understand that this has not been done for like 70 years of our creation. Why?

2500km is not miniscule compared to 5000km, i guess u just toss in words without knowing what it means. The one in Australia is for animals in plaims mostly and not patrolled like this, plus there are forts and posts. This pak afghan fence goes through steep mountains and jungles, some at above 16000 feet.

The terrain on Pak-Afg border is not suitable for a wall you can't place a wall on such a terrain which varies from thick forests to sloping mountains.
It would be effective no doubt that it could protect patrolling parties from fire coming from the opposite side of the border.
