Pakistan made IRST Pods 28 years ago???

IRST is very old. Atleast 20 years old. IRST is only useful for with in the visual range fights . It cant be tracked its very silent as compared to radar But it cant lock targets.

IRST pods are very common in usa russia china pakistan even third class country india. But range is with in visual range.

Making videos like this is not recomended though. It can give clues to an ignorant and primitive enemy and give them some information advantage. Don't recomend videos like these until war time.

When we pakistaniz have anti stealth radars like jy-27C and jy-28B why do we need IRST in permanent form? Pods are enough for that.

But F35s, Eurofighter, J10C has IRST too
