Pakistan looking to sell combat jets to Saudi Arabia

.
And why on earth would Saudi Arabia buy the J-17s from Pakistan when they have far superior fighter jets in their air force like the F-15 Strike Eagle, F-15C, Tornado, and Eurofighter Typhoons apart from UH-60M, and AH 64D Apache helicopters? They are eying the F-35 too, but due to the Israeli lobby, that may not materialize soon.

It was depressing to read the comment section of Times of India. Why can't South Asians learn to discuss issues in a gentle and civilized manner.
It takes all types to make this world. Idiots are everywhere. And like the ocean tide, they cannot be stopped. What we can do is just ignore these assholes!

It's not particularly a South Asian problem. Go read the comment section of CNN or dailymail or any other such popular website. You'd know what I am talking about.

They could use it for the SANG

They could use it for point defence.

They could use it to increase the size of their overall airforce

They could use it as a versatile work horse that has increasing capability and weapons to take the heavy work whilst they keep their main fighters for front line defence and put minimum stress on their front line fighters and their air frames

They could use it as a basis for their own airforce to learn the basics get TOT and with their money and influence add a whole range of toys

What else

Yes but we use to be one country in not so distant a past where we lived like good neighbours.

How did we screw up so badly that we cannot even have a healthy debate without cursing each other's family.

I think we need to elevate the Educational level of our societies so that people can learn the proper etiquettes of having a discourse.

Looks as though you are relegating and denigrating the JF-17s to a secondary support role in Saudi Land whilst you guys waste no time in calling the Thunder as the finest front-line fighter this side of the Suez!!

Apne hi paon pe khuladi maar di! Jeeez! :fie:

JF-17 is what it is, a very good single engined, light fighter jet with an increasing and varied weapons package

Senior member, there is already a thread running and it has been discussed the reason of their Interest, no further clarification needed...query can be put to you why on earth would iaf want to get lca when they are offered high tech aircrafts from handful of nations without restrictions and already have in inventory if you are going to come up with blah blah that listen carefully it is their money if iaf wants 42 squads, they saudis have enough money to increase sheer number or operated a separate low cost type for saudi air nation guard...the region is volatile.

There is no official or unofficial F-35s purchase discussion by RSAF it is understood RSAF is not in hurry their new F-15s would be coming along with upgraded F-15s, more Typhoon orders along with fulfillment of current Typhoon orders. It is also understood that israel lobby can't stop F-35 sales but until israel receives it entire 65+ F-35s RSAF can't get them there is a huge order by various countries that needs to be fulfilled.

@Oscar close the thread.

It's not just the question of money and buying more and more aircraft. The question is, where is RSAF going to get so many pilots from? They don't even have any maintenance capability. All of that is being done by American ex-pats (for F-15's) and the British (for Tornado's)!!

The Royalty has better things to do than fly planes around and soil their hands in maintenance activities. You should read the blogs of expats working in the RSAF to know what really is going on out there!

It seems YOUR butt would hurt real bad if you try and answer my straightforward question!! And that's why you ain't answering, but bashing my butt instead!! Jeeez!

The obsession the Indians have to the JF-17 was reflected earlier in one of the advertisement of INDIAN NAVY.
