And what if they had a hull breach, what then?

No way!! Hull breach just by brushing? BTW, hasnt PN ships got comprehensive insurance against all major parts' damage?

Or more so, just repair it & send the bill to IN. thats it.

India, Pakistan clash at sea before peace talks

Rahul Bedi Correspondent - New Delhi

Upcoming peace talks between India and Pakistan have been overshadowed by accusations about the aggressive movement of warships deployed on counter-piracy operations off the Horn of Africa, with claims that the manoeuvres jeopardised safety and violated international protocol.

The row erupted on 16 June after the Pakistan Navy's (PN's) Tariq-class frigate PNS Babur went to the assistance of the Egyptian-owned container ship MV Suez , which had been released by Somali-based pirates following the payment of a USD2.2 million ransom.

Pakistan protested to the Indian High Commission in Islamabad that the Indian Navy (IN) frigate INS Godavari had undertaken "dangerous manoeuvres" resulting in it "brushing past" Babur .

On 17 June, having denied the claims, India's Ministry of Defence (MoD) summoned the Pakistani naval adviser from the High Commission in New Delhi to register "serious concerns" about Babur 's "risky manoeuvres".

IN officials claimed to have photographs and video recordings to prove their allegations and maintained that Babur had been involved in similar 'brushing' incidents - when the distance between two warships is less than 500 m - on at least two occasions in the same area. The gravity of such an encounter varies depending on speed, sea conditions and the size of the vessels involved.

Both sides cited infringement of the International Regulations for Prevention of Collisions at Sea and Article 10 of the Agreement between India-Pakistan on Advance Notice on Military Exercises, Manoeuvres and Troop Movements, 1991.

Senior Indian and Pakistani officials are scheduled to meet on 23 June in Islamabad in an attempt to revive the peace talks that stalled after New Delhi broke off negotiations in November 2008 following the terrorist attack on Mumbai by gunmen who arrived by sea from Pakistan.

The agenda for the two days of discussions, in preparation for a meeting by the two foreign ministers next month, includes issues such as Kashmir, terrorism and confidence-building measures on nuclear and military matters.

INS Godavari was allegedly involved in a 'brushing' incident with PNS Babur on 17 June.

Indian officials said PNS Babur had been involved in at least two other 'brushing' incidents in the Horn of Africa region.

A thread was posted with video of IN ship coming in way of PN ship & fish-tailing it,,,
indians were delusionally- hysterical that they got the proof of PN being at fault,,,

A reply to those hallucinating day dreaming indian members .

Watch the whole video, some silly stuff...Acting like kids.
Rather, u really need to watch it again ...
Did it ever occur to u that video from PN camera getting released shows that it was indian fault, NOT Pak-Navy's ... !!!

Indian napak-ship turned swerved repeatedly to Right to nudge Pak-Ship...

height of unprofessionalism from the Pak navy, irrefutable evidence produced now.... this is dangerous and inexcusable behavior and if an Indian ship would have done it, they would have the captain and senior crew court marshaled......
Ofcourse u should court-marshal indian men coz they r the ones who had, in ur words, "dangerous and inexcusable behavior"...

& "height of unprofessional-ism" is from indian ship which u can clearly see turning to right MANY times, on purpose, to come in the way of Pak Ship... indian napaks behaved like a child throwing tantrum coz u couldn't do anything useful for indian hostages so decided to shed-off ur embarrassment by hindering those who WERE doing something for hostages , urs & all .... SHAME on indians & their napak-navy... & after getting fish-tailed ur napak men ran away like cowards, that's what u really r, a bunch of cowards.

& all those slangs, ur napak-embarrassed-men rightly deserved those,,,

& about ur oblivious comment on PN being "radicalized", "na'Raa-e-takbeer" has ALWAYS been slogan of Pak-Army, it's genes of every muslim.... go get learned...

^^ For face palm INS Godavri tried to block way of PNS Babur... why didn't PNS Babur fire missile?

in video u can hear "هونا هے جزباتى هونا هے جزباتى " as a reply to someone who was trying to keep the crew calm, i.e. they decided to keep calm & NOT respond to those embarrassed-ashamed-distressed-desperate-indians who were throwing childish tantrum...

The video in the other thread clearly shows the Pakistani ship coming from astern and hitting the Indian Navy ship.

Therefore, the protest is another indication of the chicanery that is becoming a signature tune.

The threads on this are being closed.

All we have in terms of new information is a video of the Pakistani response, but we do not know what occurred before that that provoked the Pakistani response.

Pakistan has maintained that the IN interfered in the PN's rescue operation, after the IN had failed.

Perhaps the IN had made hostile moves towards the PN ship, and the PN response was what we see in the video.

Thread closed.

Enough whining over a 'ramming'.

The IN should rescue the hostages next time so something like this doesn't happen.
