What's new

Pakistan listed in the Top Ten superpowers of the future

If our skiing team was better, we would be #1, LOL.
Damned Norwegians won again...

.....i just love scandinavian countries. Always mind their own business, keep low profile in world politics and contribute so much to the world. What a healthy and prosperous breed you people are

RESPECT !!!!

but hey by 2050 India will be cut into small states much easier to menage for then superpower then it is now.

Come on.. don't be like that.

Let us first loose like 1/3 our territory like you chaps did in 1971, and then you can go on forecasting all that crap.

In the meanwhile Balochistan bachalo, kahi wo bhi haath sey nikal na jaey .. :pop::pop:

Yes, Pakistan might become a superpower. Given its population it is certainly possible, but for Pakistan to achieve that objective it should stop fighting wars and proxy wars with India.

WTF did i just read :sarcastic::sarcastic:

Pakistan surely should be ranked on the top of the list because in the near future, robots, money, prosperity etc would not be counted by themselves. The thing that will matter will be nuclear power and there is no doubt that Pakistan will take the place of UK and America as a leading nuclear state.

Indians instead of jumping up and down must realise they will be in awe and drool over their economic prowess but thats about it. Majority of your people even won't feel the improvement in their lives. Caste tensions, illiteracy, social injustices and religious intolerances together with a large poor population will keep India in the fold of 3rd world countries for a long tme to come. So stop worrying about Pakistans wars and proxy wars and sit down to sort your problems. Atleast realise you have plenty before you act all so mighty.

Failed state analogy is itself a failed analogue. No economic forum uses that term. Pakistan currently rank 24th in the world in GDP, purchasing power parity and if one look at the shadow, undocumented and not taxed economy it is at least 50% higher than the current given GDP.

Like I said, the report is about 75-80% accurate. Some stuff is a little off.

Pakistan is projected to be the 15th largest economy by 2020, and 7th by 2035. By 2020, you'd start to see Pakistan's future ambitions shaping up as a regional power in terms of her Naval and Air-force's size and numbers. Influence wise, she's already there but lacks the money. About $ 20-25 billion defense budget for few years (starting from 2019), would make it happen.
I don't know where you are getting your figures from but by 2050 Pakistan will be the 15th largest economy in the world:

We have a 40% undocumented economy.... regulating the economy alone could jump as up many slots. Another thing is our growth rate should at-least be 7-8% by 2018 - IMF forecasts have been very inaccurate when it comes to Pakistan.
Above is from the IMF.

Yes and IMF has also called Pakistan one of the most unpredictable nations.

IMF forecasts are based off of current situation and in no way includes future situation such as reduction in power cuts, terrorism and construction of CPEC..

Our growth rate has never been stable and has been known to go from 3 to 8 within a year.

Trade & Economic's forecasts have been the most accurate for Pakistan and include things like CPEC and ect...

A
There's a lot of optimism for Pakistan. But you cannot say it will be the 5th largest economy by 2020. It just isn't possible. If it weren't for PPP ruling the country for five years and doing absolutely nothing then we would be in a much stronger position.

As soon as china starts its trade through pakistan there will be a serious boom in the economy
