We do manufacture weapons, many of the weapons we've purchased we manufacture equivalents of, but at war time, you need stuff quickly, it's easier to buy from the open market than to expand manufacturing capability to match what is really a short term demand.

Also during the last 10-15 years a lot of the "support" in the war on terror has come in the form of aid which we could only spend on US weapons provided by the US government and it's approved suppliers. It's easy to bash without looking at other factors. We are not Germany, Russia, China, USA etc, we don't have the industrial base for that. The officer class isn't paid to build your economy.

Cheaper supplier China which give same product with 1/3 of price and Pakistan make it Pakistan programs which Pakistan is successfully conducting and now we have more local products AlHumdUllah
