Pakistan lifts ban on international flights

Pakistan's Government has announced to resume international flight operations from Friday night. The development came a week after Islamabad lifted its ban on domestic flights.

The COVID-19 safety guidelines have already been issued for outbound international flights.

"As per decision of the Federal Government, the outbound international flights (scheduled, non scheduled and charter flights) operation has been allowed with effect from 2359 hours tonight," said a statement from Civil Aviation Authority on Friday.

Both national and foreign airlines will be allowed to operate from all international airports of Pakistan except for Gwadar and Turbat airports, it added.

Disinfection of aircraft will be ensured and crowds at airports will not be allowed, the statement concluded.

Really look forward to using the New Islamabad Airport. Chaklala was a joke, probably worse international airport in the world. But will NOT be using PIA.

Flew that airport in the late 2000s man it was just terrible

new Islamabad airport is 1000 times better than the previous airport.

The only problem is Pakistanis dont follow the guidelines.

For example one booth that says "Diplomats" "foreign Passports" "overseas Pakistani"

You would see people not take those boards seriously.

what can I say, Pakistan is for Pakistanis but its not Pakistans fault honestly, usually if you dont have a visa you cant sit on a plane to Pakistan.

Well we flew with PIA the lady at the counter was like yeah you know there is $10k fine if you fly on a expired card and they made scene at JFK blah blah got on the plane when I was at Allama Iqbal they made go to a interrogation room or sorts dimly lit with one crappy fan made me get a temp visa lasting 72 hours and then next day had to spend at the NICOP office which had loadshedding and blah blah next day same crap but got it done my card expires this year I paid for one through the portal still have not gotten it yet yet my pops got his grrr

International flights now permitted in Pakistan.

1. As per decision of the Federal Government, the outbound international flights (scheduled, non scheduled and charter flights) operation has been allowed with effect from 2359 hours tonight.

2. Both national and foreign airlines shall be allowed to operate from all
international airports of Pakistan with exception of Gwadar and Turbat.

3. SOPs for outbound international flights have already been issued according to which airlines will be required to follow the SOPs of the destination country. Additionally, disinfection of aircraft will be ensured and no congestion at airports shall be allowed.

But it's the fault of the staff at the booths as well. When the see a queue they invite you UK the other booth

International flights resumption. Qatar airways started booking from Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi. From tomorrow 31 may 2020 twice daily outbound flights from each airport.
