Should Pakistanis rally to demand withdrawal from the Commonwealth? I find it insulting to even be a part of it; everything it stands for and represents is purely an insult.

There are little to NO advantages of being part of it. Perhaps you agree, disagree, or are of no opinion on this matter. I'd like to get your honest views on the subject.

Note:

Absolutely NO indians (non-Pakistanis) allowed to participiate in this poll.

I have enabled viewers to see who votes for which option, in the interests of ensuring that only Pakistanis vote here. With that said, be frank and candid in your feedback. This is only the internet; not the local boxing ring.

what does our status with the Commonwealth have ANYTHING to do with bilateral/diplomatic relations?

and didnt you read the instructions? Can you read? I said no non-Pakistanis allowed to participate in the poll.

SCRAM!

.
usa is not in CW, though its language is english, arabs r not!!

common CW means british reminder of slavery, we r free but still v r devoting ourselves to be their slaves , and these goras consider us desis too

. .
than give also reasons, why it's insulting to be part of this games??

that's what the discussion part of the thread is for; incidentally, you are not to be part of the discussion.

Also, you just edited that thread.

before it was "no Indian, and now you wrote non-Pakistanis as well.

that's very true. But I didnt want to target only bhartis; I only want Pakistani feedback. I'm not interested in yours.

Btw, it was not in red before. :D

now, it is.

Still isn't stopping you though. Again, follow the STATED instructions; go to another thread. This one isnt for you.

thanks.

p.s. it doesn't take a rocket scientist or a philosopher to understand why being in CW (symbollically and otherwise) is an insult and not advantageous to our country. Muslim League and founding fathers of Pakistan Nation worked hard despite all odds against them (by the hindus, and the British colonialists).

why honour them by being a part? We've been kicked out from time to time as well; Pakistanis didn't even blink or protest. A sign that CW has no signifiance in Pakistan. Of course you could bring up the game --but those athletes are representing Pakistan Nation and its prestige (as well as themselves); not the former colonialists

I don't see what the problem is, we should continue with CW games!

just out of curiosity...what are the disadvantages of taking part and what was insulting about this game?

:hitwall::hitwall:

I am referring to the British Commonwealth of Nations....

not the ongoing games

Australia,Scotland,New Zealand,Canada don't have any problems!
But Pakistan has!!
gotta say Pakistan has developed a lot(can't stop laughing  )

they are all breds of british, are indians too :lol::lol::lol:

its disgusting to even think that:rofl:

being not enough developed has nothing to do with being insulted by being in common wealth, we will soon inshallah but we dont need to be reminded of slavery anytime..

let me remind who arent,

arabs, hong kong, china, egypt, USA etc

what are in actually, african states and loads of islands of british empire lolzz

Someone went too far and got banned, SUPERMODS at their best! :mod:

Why should we withdraw from CWGs someone plz tell me???

.
we need a Pakistani version of Alparslan Turkes and Erdogans. Surely, the common man of Pakistan doesnt even know what the Commonwealth is. They should be informed about what it is, what it represents, and our status in this so called "Commonwealth"

because when push comes to shove, it's nothing more than a mark of shame. A stigma.

.
To be or not To be.. Eh?

Of all the issues in the Subcontinent, I would have thought that this would not tailspin into a Indo-Pak shooring spree... :azn:

But carry on.. I know Indians are not welcome on this poll, hence not voting.. But one of the few instances where I support Abu

Well by withdrawing its membership will not make anything good either
But you can play a vital role by staying inside Commonwealth

I don't think by withdrawing the membership will damage the reputation of Commonwealth whatsoever...but will further impair the reputation if we are no longer part of this organisation and our enemies are misleading others by playing tricks against us by staying inside the same Commonwealth

I think withdrawal would send a strong message. That in itself is sufficient.

Pakistanis are a proud people; not self-hating people. Why should we be complicit in being part of the "occupied" club. It poses a larger political question which I don't want to ask right now.

to add insult to injury, Commonwealth countries are obligated to pay dues for membership! Can it get any more PITIFUL than that?

Agreed
But can't we change the whole scenario upside down by adopting sane politicians only. What if we have a strong democracy in our country? What if we have a peoples power behind the government? I am sure that will strengthen our say in commonwealth as well and we will be able to do "tit for tat" with our rivals or recapture the same "occupied" club and spread our own cards instead

There are hardly any nations of 180 million peoples in the world... so if we stay inside the same organisation...we can do wonders in the future

But there are a lot of benefits of joining commonwealth... for example

THE BENEFITS OF COMMONWEALTH
