What's new

Pakistan is testing a new monster piece of mobile artillery next to the Indian border.

Keep fantasizing!
In two years time, Gripen E deliveries will START...
There are 96 Gripen E on order, and plenty of opportunities.
96 wont even cover R&D costs, compare it with 2400 F35s of Lockheed Martin (which is just one of many many US companies).

.
Any news about Pakistan's procurement of Nora B52??

I asked the guys from Yugoimport during the Partner 2017, but they refused to say anything about it, except that Nora was being tested in Pakistan. They even refused to tell is the testing over or not :(

Development cost of Gripen E is estimated to $2B so $2B/96 ~= $20M per plane.
Development cost of F-35 is estimated to $50B so $50B/2400 ~= $20M per plane.

Brazil is likely to go for another two batches, so development cost will then be close to halfed.
You keep on losing... :enjoy:
Maybe we can stop derailing now...

You are missing the most important point that f35 is one whole generation ahead of Grpen.

No problems, Chinese technology has almost caught up with swedish technology, which is readily available to Pakistan. Hi-tech US hardware is still out of our reach. Swedes are too expensive otherwise.
As for US high techs, Chinese folks have their own ways to get them!!!! All the bright and smart young white folks in my vicinity for some reason have Chinese girl friends!!!!!

Open another thread if You want to discuss which airplanes Pakistan wants,
but is not allowed to buy.
Dont worry we make and export our own 4th gen+ plane at a fraction of price of Gripen. We dont need yours anymore. Try sell it to Indians who are desperate after failure of Tejas.

USA is a falling elephant. It will cause damages while it falls, but fall it will nonetheless, its only a matter of time.

We don't know that.

US have rebounded from much worse conditions in the past; it has proven its resilience from time-to-time.

God knows what will happen in the future. However, humanity (on the whole) is expected to end one day.

You are over-reading it, Bro.

A large number of Chinese (living in foreign states) are not into espionage; those who are eventually get caught. China is likely to learn much more through its IP-related thefts and hacking initiatives but these developments are also overblown.

I believe that China has a learned a lot through its Industrial experiences with US and Russia; both have invested so much in China over the years that they don't have any right to complain about growth of China today.

Serbian state-owned defence company Yugoimport has unveiled the MGS-25 Aleksandar, an indigenously developed 155 mm/52-calibre self propelled (SP) artillery system, at the Partner 2017 exhibition in Belgrade.

The MGS-25 prototype showcased at the event is based on the Russian-made 8x8 Kamaz-6560 chassis, although it features a locally designed armoured cab and weapon mounted with four hydraulically operated outriggers.

The prototype has an overall length of 11.4 m and a height and width of 3.85 m and 2.6 m respectively in transport configuration. With a ground clearance of 385 mm and a track of 2.05 m, it is capable of traversing 1.6 m trenches as well as ford waters up to 1.1 m deep.

A 400 hp supercharged diesel engine enables the MGS-25 to achieve a maximum stated road speed of 90 km/h and an operating range of 500 km.

The prototype shown at the Partner 2017 was armed with a 155 mm/52-calibre ordnance that is also employed by the company’s NORA B-52 SPG system. This has a 23-litre chamber, which makes it NATO Joint Ballistic Memorandum of Understanding (JBMOU)-compliant. Other new features include a newly designed gun carriage, cradle, elevation mechanism, and an automatic loader.

Yugoimport claims that the MGS-25 can come into and out of action within 1 minute. When deployed in firing mode, the ordnance can be traversed 30° in azimuth, with elevation limits from -5° to +65°.

The hydromechanic automatic loader, mounted immediately to the rear of the cab under ballistic protection, is outfitted with a pair of rotary magazines – each on either side of the ordnance – with a total capacity of 12 projectiles and associated charges. This enables the system to achieve a maximum rate of fire of 6 rounds/minute.
