What's new

Pakistan is starting to open up to tourism

After reading the whole thread i've come to conclusions that we Pakistanis sometimes act like ostriches. Burying our head in sand doesn't make the problems go away. Last year i saw a video that Pakistani Coast guard or Anti Narcotics burned around $ 2 Billion worth of alcohol. Why couldn't they sell it back to the legal vendors. $ 2 Billion is a lot of money. Before someone says anything to me about decency, Pakistan used to have Bars and alcohol & it used to be legal. If it was ok back then so why not now? Just look at the UAE & Malaysia. Tourism & Restrictions doesn't go well together. If not in the whole country we can set up the designated resorts or areas for those. (IN MY OPINION OFC)

I hope those people who come from the west come with an open mind, if they are looking for parties, boozing and scantily clad pretty girls then Pak is probably not the place for them (granted you can get that in the big cities), but if they are coming for a unique culture, hospitable friendly people and world's best food then you will have the time of your life.

Honestly the Pakistani government should also realize that most foreigners may not come to enjoy our beautiful north, most likely their own countries have similar tourist resorts. They would most probably be coming to soak in our culture.

Our people are our biggest tourist attraction - that's the point I'm trying to put across.
All those things that you list will automatically become available if the numbers of tourists are there.

Can someone confirm if GB and Chitral are open to Indians also ?
Any tourist company which takes indians on those routes?

Are you sure its alcohol ??????/ My guess is you are wrong , it must be Drugs … not alcohol ……

The figures i quoted was combined they burned drugs & crushed thousnad bottels of liqur worth $ 2 billion in 2015.
https://www.businessinsider.com/pakistan-burned-up-2-billion-worth-of-drugs-2015-10

They did it again in 2017

https://tribune.com.pk/story/157645...n-set-ablaze-drug-burning-ceremony-islamabad/

The ANF do it almost yearly. The majority of the drugs they burned was morphine & heroine in 2017. They could've easily sold the morphine legally.

Pakistan is primarily for Muslims. Everyone else is welcome and free to live their lives - but Pakistan was created by Muslims, for Muslims.

As for your need for extra kanjarkhana in Pakistan - keep dreaming. Just enjoy it in Norway; Pakistan will never become that kind of place, come hell or high water.
Why do i find these extremists always from UK? Hahaha. Beta you are nobody to decide what is Pakistan meant for. It was created by Quaid and it was never only for Muslims. It was for everyone.

"You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other place or worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed - that has nothing to do with the business of the State."

Its pathetic people like you who have changed its meaning.

Moron do you even know nightclubs used to exist before Zia's era? People used to be so open minded, there was no extremism. There was alcohol being openly sold too. Zia ul haq destroyed this country.

Yes, I am afraid but of my Creator. The Prophet PBUH said that don't even go close to things that lead to fornication/Zina (paraphrased). Zina comes in many forms, Zina of the eyes, Zina of hands etc. but here you want to promote all out lawlessness, let's get the next generation of this Ummah into unwanted pregnancies, lone mothers, sexual abuse related to substance use and addiction etc. Because I live in an unlawful society here in the UK, doesn't mean that I accept all practices.

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And come not near to unlawful sex. Verily, it is a Faahishah (i.e. anything that transgresses its limits: a great sin, and an evil way that leads one to hell unless Allaah Forgives him)”

[al-Isra’ 17:32]

Why do you feel like you need to put words in my mouth to "win" this argument?

Allah said don't get close to it, so you have the choice to not to. But can you tell me where in the Quran it says Allah has made you his policeman/woman?

And if you don't like your country why don't you move?
I have moved to like 5 difernt countires in the past.

People like him are literal scum in the society who enforce religion on others and cause extremism in society.

We should not be rude bro.

I fully understand the postions as I used to be that way.
But with a little thinking and education people will realize that the Quran says "There is no compulsion in Religion" and does NOT say " be my policeman"

I personally think that every document, every school class, every news report should start with that verse "There is no compulsion in religion"

No need to feel insecure, noone is trying to win an argument against you mate, have a good day.

I never said I don't like England, I said I dislike certain aspects of society.

I am sadened that you cannot have an adult converstaion without getting defensive and ultimatly walking away.

But again, I respect your right to do so.

The problem is that they then idealize what a "true" muslm society should be and then try to impose it on their homeland (Pakistan)

I recently went there and I was so happy to see how progressive native Pakistanis are. There was music in the malls, movies were not censored, people were just living modern lives.

Best of all, religious parties don't get over 5% of the vote.
