Why muslim? Why muslim first in everything? All humans belongs to Allah, so does their knowledge. Btw, we have many experts all around the world. Satellite making is now just buy, integrate, test and launch. An unbiased kind of diplomacy is also needed, in addition to get those parts.

Its a common things on these forums and around the world that Muslims want to stick to Muslims but yet they are the first ones to run to the evil Western countries.

Pakistan’s space program, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, commonly referred to as SUPARCO, predates the Indian space program by more than eight years – it was founded in 1961, while the ISRO launched in 1969.

Actually, ISRO was formed from a prior organization called INCOSPAR ( Indian National Committee for Space Research ) which was founded in 1962 and grew into ISRO in 1969.

What will Pakistan do with a Space Program?

Ironic considering Pakistan was the first country to send rockets into space in south asia and perhaps even in the greater middle eastern region.

Pakistan lost space long time back. As usual we will realize this much much later.

I believe that India and Pakistan and the rest of SAARC countries should have a unified manned space program. It is embarrassing that even a private group like SpaceX has a manned Mars program and government space agencies from India and Pakistan do not have a working program. India and Pakistan need to decrease their military drastically and spend money on two things - welfare program for their people; and a manned space program.

Problem is educating our young to be inquisitive about nature and science. OUr schools in our subcontinent are failing to inculcate love for science and knowledge.

Being Islamic republic, Islam encourages study of nature and to explore all corners of the world to acquire knowledge. You should emphasis the need to study nature using scientific methodologies not only in modern schools but even in religious schools.

If Scientific enquiry is missing then you have to start young. I questioned few poor students of madrasa here in Hyderabad -they know Koran by heart and very little knowledge about Science and Math. Even we are failing our young to think rationally and to inculcate scientific temperament in them.

This post deserves a positive rating.

Where will Pakistan get funds for such an expensive endeavor? Funds are needed for personal consumption by the big shots. Pakistani leaders are no different than most of the Muslim leaders, they lack foresight. Apart from that it might infuriate uncle sam and its minions, so they prefer filling their own pockets with a rare commodity such as funds.

SpaceX has shown how a relatively small budget can become a manned space program.

In my opinion all knowledge and languages belongs to Allah and so does all humans. Non muslims have done alot for Pakistan, and we should offer them the same. Space program requires precise kind of burocrates, which we dont grow, at the moment, like many other fields.

Turkey is building space centers, we are very interested maybe we can work with Pakistan on this.

Don't you have to be in a race to lose it? It's like saying - India is losing in the Rugby World Cup or China is losing in - well, all world cups. What difference does it make? Even the UK does not have much of a space program that I know of. It's hardly the end of the world - unless it really is the end of the world.
