" There is a big divide between the Pakistani establishment and the viewpoints expressed by NR Pakistanis who are a majority in this forum ". This viewpoint is clear with the recent US statements which shows the amount of control the White House exerts over Pakistani policies.

The White House issued a statement saying that the new American Foreign Minister James Mattis suggested that the US government needed to have bilateral ties with the only Muslim majority country with nuclear power. It must be noted here that Saudi Arabia and the UAE were amongst the Muslim countries that supported the Trump administration’s Muslim travel ban call.

I am surprised at the replies here. We have been cooperating with the US a lot and finally we are getting some recognition from the white house. I know this will mentally delude those that wanted sanctions and bombings on Pakistan but let's be realistic. Pakistan and US despite having a very complicated relationship, cooperate with each other and share intelligence with each other.
