Pakistan is cooperating: White House

‘If change witnessed, country may be included in list of countries facing travel ban’

WASHINGTON: The White House spokesman stated on Friday that the US was not extending the visa ban to Pakistan as Islamabad was extending cooperation and if a change was witnessed, the country might be included in the list of the countries facing travel sanctions, the US media reported.

He said that there had been no such consideration since Pakistan shared intelligence information with America. Earlier, the US Embassy in Islamabad also rejected reports suggesting that the travel ban enforced by newly-elected American President Donald Trump would also feature Pakistan in the near future.

The White House issued a statement saying that the new American Foreign Minister James Mattis suggested that the US government needed to have bilateral ties with the only Muslim majority country with nuclear power. It must be noted here that Saudi Arabia and the UAE were amongst the Muslim countries that supported the Trump administration’s Muslim travel ban call.

. . .
Is this some kind of Joke form White House or what?

India has seen the co operation of USA and Pakistan in the past and we have no expectations from this development.

Damn, open blackmail.
that's really humiliating for Pakistan.

anyways the White House never issued any statement mentioning Pakistan specifically, the entire article is based on a BBC report:
According to the spokesperson, the countries that are currently mentioned in the Executive Order had not been sharing the kind of information US officials need in order to process travel documents of its citizens. But he believed officials in other countries - such as Afghanistan, Pakistan and Lebanon - were at this point providing the required information.
If that changes, he said, these or other countries could be added to the list.
Pakistan has been an important non-Nato ally for the United States in the war against terrorism, but the relationship has also been marked by mutual mistrust and acrimonious finger-pointing.
There are many in Congress now who favour putting a squeeze on Pakistan because of its alleged support to militant groups who harm US interests in the region.
There's also a feeling - expressed by the new Secretary of Defence James Mattis, during his confirmation hearing - that the US needs to stay engaged with the world's only nuclear-armed Islamic country.
Some experts point to this as a sign that Pakistan may not be included in the travel ban even if the list is expanded.
But for the community in New York, that's hardly reassuring.

. .
Frustration has no limits ..

Exactly sir , i wonder why Pakistan should take the US so seriously after all Pakistan is a " sovereign" nation. The policy makers ought to peep into def.pk to gauge wider Pakistani opinion about the US.
