Pakistan industrialization, foreign policy and political system

To save Pakistan's local manufacturing industry we need to scrap the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) because Pakistan and China, this FTA has ruined Pakistan's indigenous industry and is causing unbearable trade deficits with China regularly amounting to north of 10 billion dollars.

We are utterly dependent on China so there is no way we can stand up to them. Why just in the last few months they bailed us out to the tune of billions of dollars.

Recently, I see some new posts regarding CPEC, Pakistan economy and development, loans.

This is my first post here. I hope it can still be useful and helpful for members here.

It seems that the biggest economic players in Pakistan prefer import-driven business models. That's the only rational reason why Nawaz Sharif's policies were so skewed to helping these guys out (artificially keeping the currency up so as to make imports cheaper). If the top economic players are manufacturing-based exporters, then the economic policies would reflect that. However, that's not the case.

Please do not forget that relying on remittances to balance the FE books directly creates the demand for luxury imported goods from those receiving the remittances.
