Pakistan inducted A-100 MRL in Artillery Corps : ISPR

"A-100 rocket has been indigenously developed by Pakistani scientists and engineers. “With over 100 kilometre range, the rocket is a highly effective and potent for interdiction that can effectively disrupt enemy’s mobilisation and assembly,” the military’s media wing said.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa was chief guest at the induction ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, he paid rich tributes to the scientists and engineers for indigenously developing the rocket, which shall augment army’s existing conventional firepower capabilities."

From 2010 and we have more then 250 of these but the news just came out today

Same is possible for other military stuff like HQ-9.

It was inducted long ago. But the new which I can see the Rocket in it is the one developed by ROCKETSAN

It could be that now complete system is made in Pakistan.

Agreed 100%.
Pakistani nonchalant narrative of Nasr to neutralize India CSD is so unacceptable.
Use of Nuclear weapons even tactical is no laughing matter. It is still option of last resort and a deterrence. Pakistan should slowly increase and build conventional capacity. JF-17, AEW&C, Type 054, Agosta and chinese SSK, AK MBTs, and other local and acquired systems are good effort. Things will improve with growth in economy.

Some time ago, USA had run around 20 scenarios of war between India and Pakistan and in every scenario war turned out to be a Nuclear one. Those were simulated experiments but logic too says, given the military sizes on both sides, and both countries having the ability to launch nuclear strike at each other using multiple means, any future war (small or large) will nevertheless end up getting nuclear.

You prepare for the worst, you hope for the best. I wouldn't be surprised if Pakistan has developed more means to respond and defend itself against Indian agression using all means possible. The more diverse means of attack you have, the more likely you are to keep a second strike capability.

Sir, can you please point to the report or its title.
Having said that, my assessment dont see a nuclear war. It is highly unlikely midi will fare an adventure for election mileage. My prediction it will be Pakistan who will invade India over water. With current capacity of 30 days, and India working tooth and nail to stop river flow to pakistan, Pakistan will have no choice but to invade India and take back Kashmir.
War will be conventional, and Pakistan to make various indigenous systems including all types of autonomous and non-autonomous, tanks, subs, etc. MLR are a great offensive tool. Pakistan should look for GMRLS, and of their own. Not sure if a kit could be added to conventional MRLS. Imported will be very expensive.

I think they have just completed the ToT and first "all made in Pakistan" battery has been inducted else everyone knows that the system is foreign and old.

I doubt that is number is correct, since Pakistan signed a contract for 36 of them.

6 battalions comprising 36 A-100 launchers were received in 2011, then PA made incremental purchases of 1 battalion (i.e. 6 launchers) each year till 2015. So, the number stands at 60 launchers.

Every A-100 regiment is supported by a locating regiment operating SLC-2 in the counter battery role.

The launchers are not manufactured in Pakistan, only the rockets have been localized which means production at POF is imminent.

Isn't a Rocket Artillery Regt holding 12 A100s each? 48 systems were received from 2011-2013. Anyways, 60 systems till now maybe possible.

I think they mean indegenously built/made instead of indegenously designed. As it is being made in pakistan without strings attached, also export versions tend to have limited range paylpad options so pakistan army to avoid limitations like that or exploit loopholes fiest transfers technology and then "indegenously increaes accuracy, payload, range and speed" upgrade might be indegenous.. :P so to speak.. As always we improve on imported limited ranged systems and add range and goodes to them indegenously to avoid blame on china.

I think its a possibility. Also wikipedia page seems to suggest pakistan has 250+ A100s and now pakistan is working on A200 versions... Also wikipedia suggests chinese PLA picked a different system instead of A1. Named PHL03 with pin point accuracy.

I could see a scenario for war erupting in the Subcontinent. However there is no scenario where one can predictably say it will be a non nuclear engagement. With the lack of trust between the 2 nations what is to prevent a party noticing a cruise missile coming towards its lands and assume it to be non nuke, wait for it to explode, and respond accordingly??? This is where the problem lies.

Your argument has weight.
But both countries working on 2nd strike capability from sub surface so that will keep both to keep fingers away from first strike. Pakistan needs to do more work for second strike capability though.
