I have a pretty sensitive stomach so I always travel with charcoal tablets...

Well, I may try..with a lot of rice..
You know I love sushi and I eat a lot which most of Pakistanis don't

I know...just kidding.. I hate you bro it is like love you :cray:

Actually it is not a common rice, but a stiky rice, here we call it as ketan. The taste is different with rice, maybe only in Indonesian you will find ketan. It also should be mix with coconut sliced.

I liked
Nasi Katok, Nasi Lemak (typical Malay food) - Rice dishes
Mi goreng, Kueh Teow goreng... - Noodles
Pisang Goreng...

I have a useless stomach courtesy of my grandma and dad....Who prevented exposure to "new" stuff...Hence the stomach reacts like a rebel on anything new :(

As in field?

I think many Chinese and far-eastern cuisines use sticky rice.. the rice for sushi is also sticky..BTW my Indonesian friends have tried Pakistani food. They like Pakistani food especially like Biryani, etc

How about rendang ? I think Rendang is quite famous word wide. Padang food or Minang Food is all over Indonesia and the center is in West Sumatra. BTW, your Indonesian/Malay language is still quite good :D

Rendang is number one food according to CNN Traveler

Oh I assure you they werent pranking you...You see the Malays have somehow managed to overcome the smell problem and enjoy the taste of the fruit...They claim when you overcome the smell the fruit is actually delicious...though many claim dont drink soft drinks with it coz it will make you feel drunk (some chemicals released by the fruit mixed with soda can give you a drunk feeling...not sure how true since I couldnt eat that fruit from hell)

The Malays are very proud of their fruit and SOME Europeans actually like it....

Locals:

How goray see it:

Science:
They identified a group of genes responsible for odor compounds called volatile sulfur compounds, and found that these genes become highly activated as the fruit ripens, driving its unusual smell.

“The durian smell has been described as a mix of an onion-like sulfury aroma with notes of sweet fruitiness and savory soup-seasoning. A key component of the durian smell are volatile sulfur compounds, or VSCs, which have been characterized as decaying, onion-like, rotten eggs, sulfury and fried shallots,” said geneticist Bin Tean Teh, deputy director of the National Cancer Center Singapore, co-leader of the study published in the journal Nature Genetics.

Unlike other plant species that typically have one or two copies of these genes, this species boasted four copies, demonstrating that VSC production is, as Teh put it, “turbocharged” in durian fruits.

Maaf ya bro...Tapi I tak suka durian :(
It smells like rotten cheese indeed very rotten and those Europeans who like strong smelly cheeses would like it. My experience was also not good it smells like some animal died in hot humid area and smells like rotten dead body as well.

I like with Pakistani spices. I didn't like the taste of Indian spices..it was a bit different and strong.. I don't the proper words ..it was more like earthy smelling..strange one.. also a bit more on sour / acidic side. I don't like sour things normally except sour cream in some cakes

Okay bro... then I will try when I visit Indonesia.. I have been to Malaysia but for a very short duration so I eat only at the restaurant inside my hotel ..
