Pakistan, India reiterate their stated positions

wow, that's one hell of a catch 22 we have there. I don't understand the Pakistani side of the argument, why would India resolve anything when it is being attacked? How can Pakistan justify the use of its soil for attacks on India? India cannot be coerced by force, of course there has to be a final settlement but not if it legitimizes decades of terrorism.

Pakistan should not allow terrorists or any other non state actors to operate on its soil, its completely unacceptable. This is another Taliban in the making but ironically, even after everything that is happening, Pakistan seems to be the only one oblivious to the fact.

The Kashmir is the Heart of All tentions. Both Countries have used almost every possible way to get Kashmir,Diplomacy,Wars ,Proxies just name it. I think one has to take the first step in resolving Kashmir.
As far as the the terrorist of Mumbai is concern wel they are actually a breed which has emerged from the Kashmir Dispute and will continue to become stronger as the time passes. The root cause and the mother of all tentions is Kashmir Dispute but strange and hard to believe the Indians want it out of Discussions .Sad news Both sides.

SHARM EL-SHEIKH: India has asked Pakistan to scrap the composite dialogue initiated about 15 years ago, urging a change in the format of talks between the two countries.

With the new proposal, New Delhi has hinted at removing the Sir Creek dispute from the agenda of talks and bringing about a change in the status of the Kashmir dispute. Highly-placed diplomatic sources told The News here on Wednesday that the talks between Pakistan and India had attained exceptionally crucial importance because the United States and its Western allies are keen to see a positive development in ties between the two countries in view of the war on terror.

The sources said that Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh would be sticking to his one-point ‘agenda’ of dismantling the so-called network of terrorism and arresting those responsible for planning the Mumbai attacks. It is unlikely that India would agree to resume formal talks with Pakistan, the sources said.

They revealed that Pakistan was coming out for the first time with solid evidence with regard to Indian contacts with the Taliban. Gilani would hand over the evidence to the Indian prime minister, the sources said. The Pakistan government has also gathered proofs of Indian involvement in the Balochistan insurgency.

The diplomatic observers are of the view that the meeting to take place today (Thursday) on the sidelines of the 15th Non Aligned Movement (NAM) summit could prove to be a make-or-break interaction as Pakistan has already altered its policy that could be construed as any help to the elements having link with the extremists.

Online adds from New Delhi: Indian External Affairs Minister SM Krishna on Wednesday said that the key to resumption of the Indo-Pak composite dialogue would be Islamabad’s action against Jamaat-ud-Daawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed.
India wants Kashmir, Sir Creek out of talks

Pakistan should have a show trial for Hafiz saeed and then see what the next excuse the indians come out with........we must be stupid if we keep caving into every demand from the indians without anything in return.

.
that is gud. lets tell them the samething. to stop supporting terrorism in pakistan as well. again this gov deserves appreciation for takin such a strong step.

btw if indians dont wanna talk about kashmir then wat do they wanna talk about? gulli danda? or may be marbles (buntay)?

.
Well Indian leaders must be on drugs by expecting Pakistan talking to India without Kashmire dispute

this will definately calm indian PM. he really likes talkin about terror so lets make it a two way channel. both countries need to stop with their proxies or else this will only take us to a fourth war.
u cant have kashmir put aside and expect peace in the region. we hear more news about women being raped in kashmir, more pakistanis will join the kashmir jihad. thats how it is doesnt matter u lik it or not. that spirit of jihad can then be exploited by terrorist outfits to target innocent civillians in both countries. so either u kill all the muslims in this region or u cant have peace without the resolution of kashmir issue.

great diplomacy by pak....
our politicians started aggressive and ended up being losers...

Text of India-Pakistan joint statement

SHARM-EL-SHEIKH: The following is the joint statement issued after talks between the prime ministers of India and Pakistan here on Thursday:

The Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, met in Sharm-el-Sheikh on July 16, 2009.

The two Prime Ministers had a cordial and constructive meeting. They considered the entire gamut of bilateral relations with a view to charting the way forward in India-Pakistan relations. Both leaders agreed that terrorism is the main threat to both countries. Both leaders affirmed their resolve to fight terrorism and to cooperate with each other to this end.

Prime Minister Singh reiterated the need to bring the perpetrators of the Mumbai attack to justice. Prime Minister Gilani assured that Pakistan will do everything in its power in this regard. He said that Pakistan had provided an updated status dossier on the investigations of the Mumbai attacks and had sought additional information/evidence. Prime Minister Singh said that the dossier is being reviewed.

Both leaders agreed that the two countries will share real time, credible and actionable information on any future terrorist threats.

Prime Minister Gilani mentioned that Pakistan has some information on threats in Baluchistan and other areas.

Both Prime Ministers recognised that dialogue is the only way forward. Action on terrorism should not be linked to the composite dialogue process and these should not be bracketed. Prime Minister Singh said that India was ready to discuss all issues with Pakistan, including all outstanding issues.

Prime Minister Singh reiterated India's interest in a stable, democratic, Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Both leaders agreed that the real challenge is development and the elimination of poverty.

Both leaders are resolved to eliminate those factors which prevent our countries from realizing their full potential. Both agreed to work to create an atmosphere of mutual trust and confidence.

Both leaders reaffirmed their intention to promote regional cooperation.

Both foreign secretaries should meet as often as necessary and report to the two foreign ministers who will be meeting on the sidelines of the forthcoming UN General Assembly.

that sounds lik a nice meetin.
im glad PM Gilani took up balochistan issue with indian PM. i think that did calm down the other side which normally sounds quite upbeat but this time it wasnt.

glad to see things comin back to normal. we accept the responsibility of bringin mumbai attackers to justice but that doesnt mean the other side should just use it to maintain an upper hand.

.
Interestingly, India has no trouble gathering evidence about Pakistani involvement in Mumbai and contacts with its mortal enemy the Kashmiri freedom fighters but is unable to buildup a strong enough case to put men like Narendra Modi behind bars.

Guj is india's internal affair , why you keep pocking your nose in india internal affairs, Do india said anything about balu...., why you dont say anything about tibet and china
