Sir you also were going to say something about future PAF.

Hi,

Not yet---.

JH7B with he latest Chinese electronic package and weapons would come at the low end of the cost curve---ie close to the JF17---.

With an aesa radar and bvr missile launch capability plus naval strike weapons---this is an extremely potent asset---. Pakistan needs an asset that can carry a minimum load of 8 or more long range naval strike weapons.

I would rather have the JH7B than the JF17 in the ratio of 2:1 for dedicated naval strike missions. For air superiority---you can have your pick.

Hi,

The upcoming JH7B would be a better choice for naval strike missions. It will have all the new gadgets, excellent weapons load---twice that of the JF 17 and will also be able to launch BVR's.

Price is cheaper to start with----so 20---25 JH7B's and 20---25 JF17N would make an excellent strike force for the navy.
Sir, do you realise, JH7 is over 73 feet long and has already been in service for some 25 years.

Mere piaaray bhai,

J-16 is not cleared for export.
It is not a very big issue. J-11's were offered to Pakistan by China.
Don't you think if China is asked they would not dishonor a request from Pakistan?

Yeah---the JH7B should be coming out this year---. A completely refurbished and rebuilt aircraft from scratch---. All new aesa radar and weapons package.

We are also facing a major naval power as well and to top it off---we have been talking about what effects the Gwadar port and naval base would have on the region. We need to prepare ahead of time.

@MastanKhan your hint for pleasant news for PAF soon, is it related to J-10 Purchase ?

You don't want them to kill me---now do you!

Sir,

What you are saying is that Pakistan would require to invest in a new type of engine and aircraft for PN requirement of having a dedicated naval role platform which can not compliment PAF and PAF's requirement for an Air Superiority fighter would still remain empty.

If you are hinting towards J-31 then that has already been reported. If it is some other then we have to wait.:)

PN should go for an advanced jet and in limited quantity. I don't see much reason for a twin engine bcz jets are bound to fly, not coming down. We should not spend billions just for the reason that 1 or 2 may fell in next many years. My 1 cent

I still think with our old mirages already end of their like A 5 fantan we retired we don't need jf 17 to replace both these jets mirages and fantans were of different use so we need different jets for different mission we lack dedicated bomber and air superiority fighter jets we made our paf one dimensional f 16 and jf 17 are multirole yes they can fulfill all roles but with limitations of multirole because it is not made for specialized use we need twin engine jets most of world has it only few countries don't in which Pakistan is one who don't have any twin fighter air superiority jet

Its been long time since J-10B was deveoped. Now its a mature plat form as many technical institutes in China have made an array of weapons and and developed new technologies for J-10B and now C model is developed with 2-3 prototypes. Now china putting more resources in J-10b and C models, as it wants to replace its huge chunks of A-5, F-8 and J-7 fighters with J-10b/c models as they are cheap replacement with single engine for them.
FC-20 proposed for Pakistan was J-10B now J-10C with newer technologies will be put forward and Pakistan as usual will again chalk out better plans to make it at par with F-16 BLK 52.Now Russia is also active which first refused to Re-export AL-31F engines to Pakistan. Pakistan Air force never refused J-10B it was The russians who never allowed their engine and Chinese engine was not ready till now. Inshallah we will see at least 36 planes in a year time after signing the contract, because it was chinese who offered to supply 36 in a year.

I thought you came back to states :P

Yeah---but I will go back too.

Navy needs heavy strike capability and so does the army----. If it was upto me---I would atleast have 48 JH7B's for naval and ground strike missions---.
