Pakistan in talks for 4 Ada Class Corvettes, T-129 Helicopters & modernization of agosta fleet

Interestingly, South Africa came up with a system upgrade so that it could fire SAHV-3 missiles. SAHV-3 is of course nothing other than an early Umkhonto.

The missile was called the SAHV-3, was intended to replace the Cactus/Crotale, and the IR version morphed into the Umkhonto SAM later.

SAHV-3 is a high-velocity, command-guided, surface-to-air missile. It is an effective counter to helicopters, ship-to-ship missiles and high-speed aircraft attacking from very low altitudes to over 24 000 ft.
SAHV-IR is a high-velocity, infra-red homing, ground-to-air missile. It is an effective counter to all types of aircraft attacking from below 100 ft to well over 20 000 ft.

The SAHV-3 basically keeps the engine of the Crotale and then the speed performance and capacity, while the radar system has been improved.

In terms of capabilities and performance the HQ/HHQ-7/FM-80/90 closely compare to the Soviet/Russian built Almaz-Antey/Kupol 9K331M/M1 Tor M/M1 SA-15B/C Gauntlet and early configurations of the KBP 2K22M1/2S6M1 Tunguska-M1/ SA-19 Grison SPAAGM missile system.
...
The original design aim of the Crotale was to engage supersonic low flying fighters, to provide a rapid reaction terminal point defence for airfields, and other high value static or redeployable targets. PLA Crotale units appear to remain dedicated to this role.

The kinematic performance of the Crotale missile and angular field of regard of the engagement radar are both compatible with the “Counter-PGM” role, which has now become the primary role of the Russian 96K6E Pantsir S1E / SA-22 and 9K331M2E Tor M2E / SA-15D. While the new acquisition radar for the HQ-7B / FM-90 has the technological potential for use in this role - it employs the same antenna technology as the 9K331M2E Tor M2E / SA-15D - there is no evidence to date that the PLA intends to reorient the operational use of the HQ-7B to “Counter-PGM” role.
...
Neither the FM-90 nor the Tor M2/M2E / SA-15D antenna designs are optimal for the crucial “Counter-PGM” role, which requires the ability to accurately track multiple incoming targets in a fixed angular sector, with exceptional heightfinding accuracy to intercept weapons flying steep dive trajectories.

This indicates that the primary role of the FM-90 remains in the engagement of fast jet and low flying helicopter targets. The introduction of a mechanically steered AESA design with a square or near square aspect ratio would be an unambiguous indicator of a role change in the HQ-7 system.

To reinforce sovereignty on your seas, show your flag.
That's why our ships that without SAM systems wave flag in the Eagean Sea.

In order to wawing Turkish flag Turkish Navy uses more little patrol vessels.
It's enough for wawing flag, neither Greeks nore Turkey intends destroying some ships .

'beg pardon, sir?

Didn't know it had a RF seeker. But be that as it may, You still haven't answered my question. Do you think that it is sufficient for thwarting the Mig-29Ks? If so, Why?
I have answered your question: I see no reason why it couldn't engage a Mig-29K if it is careless enough to come close enough. It is what the system is designed for. There's nothing special about Mig-29K that somehow makes it invulnerable to low level air defence systems.

It doesn't have an RF seeker. The R440 missile has no seeker at all. It automatically flies to where the ship-mounted Ku-band missile director is pointing (i.e. line of sight to the target), by automatic instruction via a command link.

But why would a MIG-29 enter FM-90's firing range or altitude. We need a SAM that can intercept a MIG-29 before it fires its SOWs.

Really? Why? Strike the carrier, bomb the airfields!

Pakistan's F-16's can fire Harpoons and JF-17 can fire C-802A and CM-400AKG from outside of reach of Barak-8. And some of these from outside reach of Barak-8ER. And Harpoon NG is slated for a major range increase (double).

Pakistan tarıq class is getting older,so 4 zülfikar class is not enough because readiness never one hundred percent so 4 zülfiker plus 2 milgem is logical additional two or tree TF 100 class would be excellent and finally TF 2000 can be added, two country should cooperate on some issues to share technology,,,its the navies choise to build stealth tech or not turkey bet stealth south korea not,

I don't think any of China's destroyer platforms are on offer for export. There is the CSOC High Performance Frigate, a 3500-4000 ton design equipped with 32 VLS cells. This platform could be the nucleus of a frigate capable of using LR-SAM and VL-LACM.

Yes that is exactly what we need. We need these kind of Ships to carry out strikes deep inside Indian territory

Time to think big so result came positive

Our PAF dump lost kargil war or could not enter due to their pathetic thinking all is well

India is always ahead in buying weapons which matter

Our Atlantique destroyed in 99 due to Navy lacks a ship which can have good SAM system

With current PAF and PA Indian Navy single handedly destroy both of them we do not have good SAM system deep in sea we let india close our shores than we destroy if they get of from shores than game over

Pakistan must have layers of SAM system from 500 km away we can destroy any IAF jets would do wonders

Remember I dia equipped with better radars and AWACS and ASW than us Im not saying buy new AWACS and ASW

We need long range high performance SAM on land and in our bigger ships

And we need jammers krashua 4 time which can jam Indian satellites drones cruise missile and their ships and aircrafts radar system

It's time to go electron warfare and bigger better meaner ships

Type 052D Chinese will sell Pakistan any day our dump navy talk alot do nothing is a problem

Type 055 DDG Is not exportable

PN slogans
U 214 never bought
TF 1000 it's drained like never talked
MILEGAM navy is interested but not buying
ADA CLASS we will do same
We buy bigger ships than F 22 P our ex naval chief shahid karimullah said in ideas half decade ago

Pak-Turkish-defense-deal.jpg

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkey are going to further strengthen their existing bilateral ties as an important defense deal is being expected between both countries this month.

Pakistan and Turkey have strong deep rooted relationship established through their common faith, shared history and cultural bonds while both countries have not only established close ties in economic field but also in defense and security fields.

Sources revealed that both countries would further enhance their defense ties as Turkish Navy is going to upgrade three Agosta Khalid submarines and an agreement is likely to be singed this month.

T-129 multi-role attack helicopters would be bought by Pakistan. The decision had been taken by both countries defense ministers during the last meeting. Sources added that four ADA class stealth warships would also be received by Pakistan from Turkey.

Well I think it not fair to say that Pakistan Military aparatus has not done well

a) 8 Submarine Deals with China
b) 4 F22P frigates addition
c) Coastal defense Missile
d) SAM missile induction

Ada platform is emerging , only 2-3 boats in Turkish inventory , so we will eventually negotiate some items

it would be still be a mile stone since we do not have official Corvettes (Designation ships in our navy), even if we will induct the Ada class ship in due time with formal announcement

We are going from Zero to 4 Corvettes , not to shabby
