@AZADPAKISTAN2009 I know it's silly to ask as it would have already mentioned in the current thread somewhere, Is ADA class have VLS? If yes then how many tubes?
Simple answer is , No .
But, ADA(Island-Class) is ASW based corvette program. In addition, it has full ASuW capability. This concept was designed to serve in a cramped sea and a sea field with a high level of modern submarine threat. It is one of the world's top war ships in terms of magnetic traces. A platform that fully meets the Littoral warfare and EEZ concept.
However, ADA classes may have an ESSM equivalent air defense system with future modernization. But, as I said, due to the diversified needs of the Turkish navy and crowded fleet management, the VLS cells were not considered in the Asw / Asuw Corvettes, but in the second stage of the project, the I class frigates.
We also discussed the issue of why Pakistan preferred ADA-Class instead of I class on here. My idea is as follows:
I see that some of our Pakistani brothers are not satisfied.
The MILGEM program is a very long process which will extend from 1400 tons displacement to 5000 tons. ADA Corvette customized task description, defense of territorial waters, submarine warfare and A2AD. In order to understand the choice made by the Pakistani defense ministry, it is first necessary to evaluate it in the general plan of the Pakistani Navy armament.
Also , in developing the ADA corvette, all of the non-recurring costs and emerging issues in the prototype process has been met by Turkey. The Pakistan Navy is investing in an engineering package that is now perfected.
Pakistan navy also becoming the main partner of MILGEM with Turkey , ofc without incurring the these costs.
Since the VLS system will not be included, it is mentioned as a shortcoming. If so, what kind of ammunition would the Pakistan Navy use with MK41 system? Turkey developing its VLS systems, also ESSM's domestic counterparts ammunition is not ready yet.
Cruise Missile Integration may make sense. However, there may be no immediate need for ammunition groups for which the response-time criteria to the extent required by the VLS are in the forefront. This demand can also cause extension of the project schedule. At the other corner I class frigate, still in prototype verification process. Thats means lots of non-recurring costs.
When Vls-certified domestic ammunition group is obtained without no restriction in the future, the VLS can be integrated into these ships. Even solutions on the deck are possible. for example
Another point I would like to draw attention to is the fact that the strategic relationship between the two countries is escalating. Following the AGOSTA class submarines modernization (SLCM capability), common infrastructure acquisition on Surface platforms will result in increased technical capabilities and cooperation of the two countries and stronger regional affairs of the two countries. The two brothers began to unite in technical sense for the first time, exploring the power that would come out of being together.
... We have opened a military ship program that we have been working on for 15 years to our Pakistani brothers with full rights. Turkey has spent billions and billions of dollars so far covered Milgem program. (all engineering and design activities, sub-system localization, protatip, and many years of navigational activities) Pakistan has acquired not only 2 ships but also this accumulation....
