Pakistan imposes fresh ADD on HYDROGEN PEROXIDE imports from Bangladesh

BD export is only a tiny 2.7 million dollar. Pakistan is not a rich country like Europe. It needs its industries to survive. As such is the case, it has imposed a little Tariff on BD products.

India did the same. Shall BD impose Tariff on its $6 billion import from India as well?

Why do you care so much for pakistan, are you pakistani.... small or big yes retaliate....

As for india absolutely put up tarrif...we are the customer power reside with us.... we can not protect our market by being soft..

Impose AAD on Cotton the biggest item which Bangladesh imports from Pakistan

Absolutely...we should.... BD is not dependent upon pakistan for anything whatsoever.....

BD buys its cotton globally pakistan has no monopoly over it...70 percent of BD cotton comes from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. BD has established formal buying houses in these countries where the entire projected yeild of plantations are purchased as futures up to 5 years at a time. We have even started to invest in cotton plantations themselves to secure supply.

BD does not need pakistani cotton.

For one who understands geopolitics of our region, knows also how important Pakistan is for the BD defense if there happens a mishap between BD and India.

You are asking BD to slap its own face when you suggest slapping ADD to cotton import from Pakistan. Cotton is too important for BD. It cannot do something that raises the cost of imports. Moreover, today or tomorrow, Pakistan will become our conduit for importing high class cotton from Uzbekistan.

By the way, when BD is going to impose ADD to Indian cotton when it has also imposed ADD to the same products? What is your suggestion on this?

Really what exactly are you expecting PK to do if something happens between BD and India?

Will they attack india and open up a western front should a war develop between BD and India. Did they even do that in 1971?

PK will not assist BD even if they had the capacity which they do not.

You need to forget about illogical suppositions. BD stands alone in all things.... no one is going to come and help us. We need to be aggresive and self confident in all of our dealings.

Put up tarrif, pakistan will fold snd if they do we will lose nothing. Next country will think twice about putting up a tarrif wall.

What the hell are you talking about. Ever see a map? Do you have any idea where Uzbekistan and turkmenistan is....

Why would we ship our cotton overground via afganistan and then into pakistan from these countries? Our logistic line from those countries are well established. We use our own ships to bring it in.

You have no real idea what you are talking about. BD is in the process of minimising cotton from india and pakistan and may that continue.

BD aims to source its cotton from central asia and africa.

Pakistan has no leverage.... however your bizzare rant that BD should accept pakistani transgression is telling....

You clearly do not read what i say or are unable to comprehend them.

India should also be subject to tarrif.... BD gets barely 20% of its cotton from india and pakistan and this is a reducing quotient year on year as BD has diversified and cultivated its supply.

It is aggressively pursuing this policy for a decade.

Neither country holds any leverage.

No, I did not know the location of Uzbekistan. I thought it is in the north of Russia and near Greenland. Now, I know it and I think instead of going through Turkmenistan and Iran to Bandar Abbas the route can also be through Afghanistan and Baluchistan to Port Gwaddar.

it would be cheaper to send it through Afghanistan and Pakistan to Port Gwaddar. Afghanistan has been building a railway line that connects area near Baluchistan from where the route is short to Gwaddar.

Moreover, Iran situation is not that stable because of the US sanction. So, an alternate route through Pakistan in the future may be a better option. However, it is not possible now because of rift between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Now, please tell me what my bizzare rant actually means.

I grant you it maybe an option in some long distant future once afganistan settles....

Hardly a reason to let this go answered when logistical connection are well established. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

What do we gain by kow towing to pakistan now? With your way BD harms itself but hurting its exporters. In international politics and business you stand strong or you lose.

I think question of imposing AAD on Indian products should be directed to your own country man who is wetting his chaddi.

BD should seriously think about stopping Indian imports altogether. India is a unfair country infested with mean population.

Easy solution is to up the local production, and ask the public to lower their consumption of onions.

You won't die, if you don't use onions in the dish.

But abal desh'er magi public don't understand simple logic, crying and bitching for onions and embarrassing the government and the whole nation.

God forbid, If they cried as much against police brutality and forced disappearances as they do for onions, we'd have a police excess free country.
