What's new

Pakistan hopes to revive its naval modernization program

We should also look at Turkish naval programs like TF -100 milgem , & TF 2000.... western systems at lower cost not as low as Chinese but we can have know-how about the western advance tech.... quality over quantity...

.
The Asmat class , missile frigate are sufficient support ships for F22P for present since there is really no major escalation.

But it would be ideal to pair 1 F22P with -3 Missile boats , for Patrol Missions.

The Missiles boats are being produced rather at a slow rate , we should be poping these out 3 every year

azmat.jpg

Armed with 8 Anti Ship missiles and stealth design its great platform for night missions at sea

Just surprised why this design is just not scaled up by 30%

A large Frigate like Type 054 is need of hour , consider China has almost 49 of these ships and they make good 5-8 ships a year it would be great to have 3 units purchase or leased for Pakistan Navy.

With construction of GWADAR trade port , our coast line responsibilities have increased and we need a proper large ship to navigate the waters of "Indus Oceans"

But this ship should be the Jewel of Pakistan Navy (3 Leased Type 054)

PN should try to acquire Type 54 & 56 ships as they will serve really well in PN & will boost the security of Gawadar port. Also PN should think about making a Navy Air force.

.
That's why I am saying we need massive Navy
We don't need a massive navy,,, we need a small but technologically superior navy,,, Our coastal area is much smaller,,, our key trade routes are on west i.e. away from our enemies,,, however, three important considerations are required,,we

1.) Very strong air defense
2.) Very strong naval air offence
3.) Keep a strong eyes on western naval bases of our enemy,,, Capabilities on western side and assets they have...

Navy's key strategy should be to defend against Naval blockade which does not require no.s but require a good offensive defensive mix,,, and very stealthy submarine mix capable to withstand detection even from P8 aircraft,,, if S-20 are capable of this and our frigates have strong SAMs capable defense then we are way better ...

Remember that Indian Oil routes are on west i.e. towards Pakistan,,, Pakistan can pose threat to Indian oil ships,,,

Now what we have to do is to make diplomatic relationships with other countries so strong that no other nation provide port facilities to indian navy in wartime,,, furthermore, Oil blockade of India can be implemented from western sides both using diplomatic and offensive measures ...

Design phase of Istanbul class frigate is completed. The construction will commence in 2017 when the fourth Milgem launched on sea. Turkish Navy is planning to receive 4+4 Istanbul class in inventory. I think Pakistan and Turkey can reach a good deal to construct same or similar class frigate in Karachi shipyard.

F515 TCG Istanbul

-16 Atmaca SSM(250km range)
-16 cell MK-41 launchers with ESSM-Block-2 (4x for each tube) + Hisar missiles, CIWS, Hizir Torpedo defence system, 250km range smart-S mk-2 radar with Aselsan T/R modules

7000t TF-2000 hull design is in final phase. CAFRAD main radar design will just have some changes on production phase cause of Navy's requirements. The general design of hull will be more or less like related image. It is going to change all power balance of region thanks to sensor + missiles.

The Aselsan offers different configuration of main radar mast on TF-2000. In accordance with Turkish Navy's selection, The design phase will be contructed and Construction will commence in 2018.

-400+km IFF range
-AESA electronic attack system on 360 degree coverage for hundreds of km range called Ares-2N
-Mast satellite communication
-Illumination radar for semi-active missile guidance on 360 degree sector

Hisar-A and O variants are designed to be a part of frigate projects and It is for sure Those missiles will be integrated on Turkey's frigates but I don't know If Hisar will be a part of first Istanbul class frigate. I think Integration will be commenced with second ship.

A modular SAM system for Land and Naval forces !

Yep, Actual TF-2000 concept is the image I have posted above but It will be CAFRAD radar mast design which is going to be a bit different in accordance with decision.

I really want to see the collaboration between Pakistan and Turkey to build Pakistani made frigates. It is the Chinese low cost labour and their unrivalled offers that ties our hands. If Turkish officials manage to break Chinese influence over Pakistan on Naval projects, I think Pakistan will be satisfied more than enough with quality and security those systems are going to provide !

I would love to see 4 to 6 Istanbul class Frigate in use of Pakistan Navy

. .
you love anything.would you love to give $500 million each for them and thats a conservative low end figure
Sooner or later Pakistan will have to go for lot more Frigates and even Destroyers. We need at least 24 big ships and several FAC like Azmat or similar.

well if thats the casethen it would be very stealthy as it has very angular design. but im not so sure on the vls though. it wont be flush to the deck. i would have expected it to be covered like on the type 45 as shown below

Sir in all wars Navy and Air Force have given best performance. So we know how to walk but now it's time to run and run fast

Good luck trying to block oil headed for india

why would you get so many ships when you cannot protect them against enemy air or submarine attacks
