There is no need for Pakistan to get involved in this mess anymore. 'Murica is digging its own grave. It is being taken to task by most neighbors in this region in Afghanistan. Russia, China, Iran and others are all involved and returning the favor on a daily basis. The 'Muricans are fully aware and they know that this is a lost war. All countries involved will play this game to their advantage.

Pakistan has been short selling for too long. Gen Mushi took it to new heights.
With current political instability it will be again up to army to negotiate with USA both military and foreign issues and they will again short sell. Bad timinings. Pak has time till Trump administration devises new South Asia and Pak Afg policy.

Pakistan is expecting too much now and I guess US is not in a mood for such negotiation. The whole deal included to get Taliban on table and remove haqqanis which in turn killing Afghan forces and Americans. Both has not been accomplished by Pakistan in a way it was agreed.
