What's new

Pakistan helped US more than its requirement:

Taking the correct decisions is only the first step. Following through and re-evaluating continuously are still needed to ensure that benefits result from the decisions made, both short term and long term.
Yeah but that's contingent on having decision-makers who actually care about their country. The ones leading our top political parties and state institutions have lives outside of Pakistan -- e.g., investments, family, property, etc. If the US (or UK) need anything, they just need to aim at those aspects; the discussion about Pakistan's national interests doesn't even register in these conversations IMHO. If it did, then it would look a lot like what you're talking about.

Why would a country help another "MORE" that it "needs"? That is NOT the way international geopolitics works.
But that's how it works in Pakistan. You work for your personal gains at the expense of your national Interest. History of relations between the US and Pakistan is rife with such things. It's entirely the fault of Pakistani rulers. They always sacrifice the honor of the nation at the alter of personal gains.

absolutely not.

Pakistan has not only shunned USaid but threatened IMF with refusing to take more loans

This is one step from man and 2 steps from saints policy adopted by the lumber 1 government.
You missed the point.. there is no AID, it never was, with or without the average aam adami lives do not change.

We should not trust the American terrorist regime.

Yet...

I know Pakistan is celebrating the return of the Taliban as a victory, but it doesn't change Pakistan's situation. It makes it worse. Who is going to financially support the Taliban, at least for the short term? How can a country rely on IMF loans and under economic pressure help? No. US influence still looms large.

For all my criticism of the Pakistani system, one thing must be made clear: those who control the decision making and get to determine just what is in the national interest do care deeply about the country, for they know they will never have the same privileges anywhere else in the world. They are because of Pakistan, and hence their self-interests are tied irrevocably to the national interests as determined by them.
