What's new

Pakistan has second strike capability against India

In Indo pak context where both countries are just establishing a second strike capability, it is deterrence which counts rather than numbers. There is no reason to compare with bigger Navies. As our Ex Foreign Secretary Agha Shahi said once in Indo Pak context nuclear delivery has little relevance because we can practically deliver a nuke on a bullock cart. Obviously, that was before the Indians put up the fence and messed up every thing.
There sure is reason to compare, certainly as far as working principles of systems are concerned. SURVIABLE delivery systems are essential for a second strike capability.

He might mean a nuclear tipped RAAD cruise missile fired from a Mirage Rose Upgrade.

Sea based realistically is not possible currently.

Dear second strike capability usually means submarine based capability.

Pakistan’s second strike capability, Dr Cheema said, has been augmented by deployment of Hatf-VII/Baber nuclear capable cruise missile that is launchable from aircrafts and conventional submarines. It is further fortified by the deployment of Hatf-VIII/Ra’ad air launched cruise missile, he added.

Which PAF jet can carry Baber CM? Or they have reduced size of it? although if Su-35s are purchased then Baber can be carried on it in its current size.

China is far far behind in cutting edge military technology. People often ignore four important pillars behind US military machine which are:

1) massive investment in cutting edge R&D in world's broadest innovation base right at university level
2) world's largest and most adt minds to support all this which have decades of experience in their respective fields

Europeans are second best followed by Russians. China has a long way to go. They haven't developed culture of supporting innovation and free thinking yet.

You forgot Japan and South Korea.
20 yrs ago that would have been true. USA is 400 yrs old country while China got its independence in 1949, China has progressed rapidly and as of today, China is surely behind but not far behind USA and the gap is reducing day-by-day. Many Chinese universities are among top universities in the world and ranking are intrinsically rigged in favour of English speaking nations so Chinese universities are underestimated. Plus Chinese research is published more and more in Chinese journals and thus really not easily accessible to the rest of the world and thus making it very difficult to accurately estimate its progress in R&D. China is obsessed with secrecy and this also adds to the difficulty. Chinese students regularly top in US universities and there a lot of Chinese origin professors in the faculties of US universities and most of them have visiting faculty positions in Chinese universities (7 just in my school). As far as, industry is concerned, China has much larger manufacturing sector than USA and EU and they are getting really sophisticated. China's economic model is very different than USA. USA believes in exploitation and violence as the state tools for economic growth thus USA has to periodically come up with new excuses to bomb nations in resource rich geographies. While China believes in industrial development, business and trade, investment and competitive pricing.

ALCM might be launched by C130 /IL78 type A/C. Perhaps it will not be an entirely new role for C130. I guess a flight of heavies can be dedicated for this particular role.

We are talking of high end machinery for defense applications. US is world's leader here. I will leave it here for being off topic.

You are mentioning some statistics that china is having this china is having that, when others are talking about cutting edge technology and sophisticated instruments.China is atleast 2-3 decades behind US in that category.China can catch up military with US only around 2050 that too not sure.US is an undisputable innovation hub and not like copy paste technology. How many chinese company you can call us world class brand compared to US ! Even the medical, laboratory, pharmaceutical companies you can hardly find a chinese world class companies having global reach and these are not secret industries.Even they are the biggest automobile industry, you can hardly see any chinese companies at the level of GM,Ford etc....Like any other developing country, chinese market are dominated by sophisticated western products and western markets are dominated by cheap chinese products. How many chinese are getting nobel price for science ! China is improving but replacing US as a sole super power will not happen for at least another 3 decades.

. .
Wah baniya sb the threat is same for both countries even more for Indians as they have more economic hubs to protect unlike Pak.
well as they say in pakistan ..... ek Karachi sab per bhaari ..... dont worry you have ISLAMABAD , PINDI & LAHORE & Multan too

There was also no credible source that Pakistan possessed nuclear weapons until May the 28th 1998. After that date the fate of a nation, of a race changed. It is safe to assume that Pakistan has some sort of 2nd strike capability at least. It's this that's stopping Pakistan being invaded by the indians.
We had credible evidence that Pakistan was working on nuclear program. But in case of sub launched nuclear missiles, we dont have any evidence/info..

Yes but in May 1998 it was stated that Pakistan was many years away from being able to conduct a test, if any. I clearly remember the furore and horror in the indian parliament when it was announced that Pakistan had successfully conducted a nuclear weapons test because most of them had assumed that Pakistan had no nuke capability whatsoever.

Also after 9-11 the Pakistan military is very reluctant to give any info. or news about it's strategic weapons programs as many in the west and elsewhere claim that we'll give them to terrorists. So virtually all strategic weapons news is tightly censored.

So how can this guy is openly telling the censored, secret information to everyone that Pakistan have second strike capability to alert the enemy and they start thinking of destroying them too in the first wave of attack.
