100% needed. When I visited Pakistan in 2017 I caught an infection with really bad throat and cough, I went to see the doc and he came out with an injection, so its certainly common to use syringe.

Also barbers need disposable blades, I went to Saudi Arabia and for Hajjis shaving they use a different disposable blade which is packed in a seal packet. We definitely need that in Pakistan to, this will counter hepatitis and other diseases.

We need to produce these in Pakistan rather than import them

Why importing, why not developing it

Intellectual property. The companies who came up with this idea would have obtained trade mark and Patent on this type of item and it is possible they have a patent in Pakistan.

Hence anybody manufacturing this would require licence or buy from the IP holder. IP is big thing for western countries and is cause of trade war between China and USA.

Pakistan cannot manufacture the needles.

It takes good metallurgy and large-scale precision manufacturing abilities, both of which are not present in Pakistan currently, unfortunately, and requires massive investments to make possible.

Absolute BS. Pakistan manufactures. Pakistan exports medical devices thus manufacturing syringe is not a problem.

Molding plastic and sterilized packaging are one thing; large-scale manufacturing of precision hypodermic needles is quite another. Do any of the "manufacturers" listed make their own needles?

Yes, Pakistan exports a variety of single-use medical equipment, yes, and some durable goods as well. And the problem with cheap syringes is not the price, but the people who try to re-use even those cheap syringes.

The problem safe disposal of those syringes. I have seen many ly around and nobody giving a damn about it. Late last year in Islamabad I was leaving a doctor and medical store when at the bottom of the step I saw a syringe with bent needle. People on bike were coming and parking and no body bothered to pick it up.

I picked it up and went back to the medical store so they can dispose it off properly.

Its a health hazard for those general public and also rubbish collectors who manually move the rubbish. It can destroy a persons life for small carelessness and people should not make it political issue.

This safety syringe has been available for about a decade or so yet nothing in Pakistan.
