A military diplomatic source in Moscow told IHS Jane's that Pakistan is also interested in buying a batch of Mi-28NE 'Havoc' attack helicopters and that a Russian delegation is preparing to present data on the Mi-28NE as well as the Pantsir-S1 (SA-22), Tor-M2KM (SA-15), and Buk-M2 (SA-17) surface-to-air missile systems to Pakistani officials at the forthcoming International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2014 in Karachi.

Strange news i think It is Mi 35 hind deal and i am not clear by Ack ack missile system.

The Mi-35M deal is the current deal and has already been in advanced stages of finalization. These helicopters will be used for COIN and Special Ops.

What the video clipping is stating (rightly or wrongly ... too soon to say) are further deals for Mi-28NE (Night Hunter) Havocs and SAM systems.

If this really happens, then it is going to be a significant capability booster.

Lets take the news just as "show of interest" for now. If Russia is taking so much interest in improving its relationship with Pakistan, then Pakistan should take some steps in return. Defense purchases should be kept but i will be more happy if our relationships get roots in economic spheres. Pakistan government should give preference to Russian investors in Oil & Gas sectors, energy, mining as well as Automobile industry.

You know what, Russian cars are many times better then Japanese one. Benefit for Pakistani consumers also. And then my friends, ask Russians for Mig-35 and they will say "Haan jee...."
