Pakistan Gets Serious About Its Tourism Pitch

Carries an insecurity driven wannabe complex and wants to tell others they are talking big.
You don't even know what you are talking about mate, forget about your logic on littering and the examples you are trying to conjure up every time to escape "personal responsibility".

Tourism does not bring alcohol or prostitutes, the flawed society you live in does. Which tourist is responsible for places like heera mandi, or the existing prostitute culture in your society? Are you not watching prostitutes dancing on your tv in the shape of actors and dancers every single day?

As for the rest, your argument is invalid and no one is going to care. My country needs tourism and it's going to get it. (Period).
Hera mandi finished at the time of Zia..
This flawed society is the creation of your elders. I came to pakistan six years. Well funny thing is why are you so against an alternative opinion. Afraid???

'My country needs tourism and it's going to get it. (Period)'.
Well well a god syndrome. You will always remain a man of low thinking and low income. Dancing like an indian on a soap box doesnt help your cause.

A tunnel vision approach of just more tourist won't bring them in rushing. And attitudes like yours wont serve Pakistan. You kind of people talk a lot but wont do anything to change the system. Like organise and provide bins and rubbish collection. Just a talker.
Anyways you are boring me. Good luck with you getting the foreign tourist...I for one dont want them here.

we have like 2 3 blasts in past weeks, and attacks on law enforcment agencies and we are talking about tourism

We overseas Pakistanies also bring dollars from outside but when did they actually provide any facilities it all goes to babu's pockets which they feed their high class burger kids.i know personally high rank army and civil officers kids who used to go to england and europe for ayishi..
we might attract alot of tourism with dollars but we fail to manage our system. we have to focus on management before we actually push tourism.
unfortunatily too many problems surrounding and our leaders who came on tourist visa to rule left us marked.

That's a sad loss of life and terrible mind set of people who think killing innocents will benefit their cause.
I may disagree with @War Thunder but I am sure we both will agree that this must not ever hit tourism again

We have everything here. We have pak overseas visitors with lots of cash but no facilities. Not even toilets

Yes. He was saying we bring money. They don't build facilities with that money but government officers spend it on ayashi.
He is correct. The money should be used for infrastructure. Government collects taxes and MNAs drive in land cruisers. Yet no toilets for tourists

What facilities? You give money to government of Pakistan for building some facilities?
oh it goes like this i didnt know i dont give money to anyother gov but they give alot to their citizens.
all my investment and major accounts are in Pakistan is that not enough for you.

So that's the level of your education...
Better to use a donkey cart than to be a donkey. Enjoy your day

education ?... lol

....says the cave man who still uses a weed wacker to trim his pubic hair

but i do admire your use of donkeys....you can made keema nan once their use is over.

****Dubai is a success looool. Ok..that's shows how much you know. I go there at least 3 times a year so I know dubai very well and if that's a success then good luck.*****

RE: think of this way if we gave a former donkey rider,a lexus GS300 to drive and you as usual crash it .. does it mean the car is bad?...

it is called management, training, organisation etc...all man made problems can be over come by hard work and using your head.. and not by cribbing and complaining all the time...

It's called management. Why take examples from nations who failed it and why not take examples from places like Singapore, Dubai, New Zealand and Most of Western Europe?

And incase you didn't notice, I live in a tourism hotspot and I know the "good" impact of tourism.

Regarding litter I can bet you I don't litter nor tolerate anyone doing in front of me, and I'm more likely to stop you and hand you the trash you left on the ground.

And is that your excuse for littering, to try and transfer the blame? How about taking responsibility of yourself first?

And if you cannot stop littering then just sit home and don;t ruin the livelihood of people in those tourism spots in my country, would you?
I have little to no tolerance for walking trash bags nor walking ashtrays.

dude this guy is just upset with life... think he hates dubai and yet visits there 3 times a year.. a unbalanced personality ...

Singapore, Dubai, New Zealand and Most of Western Europe

We have lost our culture tradition. Prostitutes are everywhere and alcohol...etc etc etc.

You both make valid points and I have to agree with @War Thunder that tourism has the potential and will improve our economic situation

However I also agree with @ProudPak that this industry must not come at the expense of local culture.

Not too long ago I watched a travel vlog of an Arab guy who visited Hunza valley and how for over 100 years that little village secluded between the mountains never experienced even the pettiest of crime, the people lived a humble and healthy lifestyle of no worry (most people over age of 100), and this foreigner, an Arab, visited that area not to see expensive luxury hotels, skiing resorts, shopping malls, bars and dance clubs and brothels catered to tourists; no, he came to experience a lifestyle that has died out in every other part of the world precisely due to globalization and mass tourism industry.

I recommend watching this to appreciate this gem that we have:

If we will develop a tourism "industry" (hate that word) then we shouldn't look to Dubai, Singapore, Thailand or any of those other places as all they offer is more or less the same stuff; sky scrapers, cheap sex (sex tourism is the way to go if all you're hungry for is $$$), alcohol and night clubs, shopping malls, hotels and restaurants.

Rather, Pakistani tourism experience must be uniquely Pakistani.

Also, just to add; when Pakistanis start experiencing foreigners in mass quantities believe me they will start losing their hospitality as some foreigners will abuse this.

Therefore we should be careful and not go all out following the examples of these other countries. Moderation is the best path and monetary gain shouldn't be the motive alone here.

End of pak beauty. I travel a lot in pakistan and I dont want it to change. It's beautiful as it is

The destruction of Pakistan's natural beauty is ongoing as a result of domestic tourism. Most international tourists don't litter and respect the sights and culture. It is our own who find it okay to throw their trash everywhere, cut trees for the timber mafia and develop distasteful monstrosities (poorly constructed and even more poorly designed 'hotels') in the mountains.

Are you ok?
P.S: how much of the litter in those tourist destinations is caused by your hands?

He is actually correct. Every place that has been made accessible by road, not even developed for tourism, has been completely destroyed by the plague that is Pakistani tourists. And I do mean completely destroyed.

dude if we think like you we still be in the stone ages..

We would at least have our environment intact.

yes tourism has some side effects ... but there are plenty of examples like Dubai that managed tourism so well.

Some side effects? Every single accessible tourist destination in the country has been ravaged beyond recognition by hordes of uneducated, irresponsible, shameless, degenerates which make up 99% of the Pakistani tourists. You yourself are a perfectly typical example of how no one in Pakistan gives two bits about the horrendous consequences that these unchecked and unabated tourism policies will have on the very regions that you want to go see for their magnificence. "Oh khair hai bhai jan".

Places like Dubai don't happen by themselves, you have to make them so. Is the Pakistani government or even the Pakistani populous planning to do anything with regards to this problem? Or are we still following the foolproof plan of just hoping to wake up one day with some Flying Fairy having transformed us from animals into anything more civilized overnight? I'm sorry, I misspoke, animals are very respectful to their environments, unlike us. The Pakistani tourist hordes are worse than biblical plagues.

ps: The majority of tourists reaching Dubai are very different from the majority of local tourists in Pakistan.

It's called management. Why take examples from nations who failed it and why not take examples from places like Singapore, Dubai, New Zealand and Most of Western Europe?

How can you give examples of Singapore, Dubai and New Zealand? Who are we trying to kid here? Pakistan itself is the example for us to look at. Look at every single tourist "hot spot" in the country and then come here and tell me that it will all be ok. What do you think will happen once we deplete these regions as well? You think foreigners will still come over to see the likes of Murree and Naran? These feelgood, empty fairy tales don't work.

Also, Dubai is a horrible example of eco-friendly tourism. It has destroyed its natural environment in pursuit of urban tourism.

Every move made towards promoting or easing tourism in any region always brings in exponentially more local tourists than foreigners. There is no way around it.

Again did I say foreign tourists litter? Domestic at least wont be demanding alcohol, hookers and drugs. Then you will say besharmi.

I travel a lot and also in pakistan. I dont want to go to centaurus in islamabad but would rather hike the trails. Meet the villagers eat pakoras and drink lassi. Don't want burgers and milkshake

I would call you a dick but that would upgrade you. Now jog on.

I am not against tourism, but need to be careful who we invite into out home.

LOL Indian *** is burning. I like it.

dick?... wow you described your self perfectly.

but i think the case with you is much deeper.

You are not very capable, and havent achieved anything meaningful in your life. The issue is that you dont think a solution can be found, when in reality a solution does exist.

Ok ... you need to stop being a typical Pakistani with limited vision.

if we go by your logic , we stop producing milk since in Pakistan milk quality is no. 2 or how about a more extreme example desterlise Pakistani men so that cannot have babies as according you 99% of trouble makers are Pakistanis.

Every thing can be managed and solved, singapore in the 1960s was a waste shithole, and look what they did to solve problems. Lucky for us there is PM who understands and his team is working in solving the problem, and people with your kind of thinking are blogging and no body cares about.

about dubai, you think people just behave them selves are they angels? do not litter? you think indians, bangladeshi, Nigerians, africans, syrians, iraqis, sri lankans , russians or the millions who come are well trained in litter and are clean??????.... lol......

Then you really know nothing.

There are fines, enforcement, waste management, rubbish bins every where, daily cleaning etc combined together that keeps dubai clean NOT people.

Actually, most tourists who research the culture know that they won't be able to openly have alcohol. Having hosted a bunch of them, the vast majority are extremely respectful of local cultures and norms. Plus, in Hunza at least, the local alcohol was offered pretty openly.

And I believe the locals everywhere do enough drugs anyway.

Our major concern, whether the tourist is from London or Larkana, should be to a.) educate the entire population that only assh*les litter and b.) enforce extremely strict fines on disturbing nature.

But the problem is that self proclaimed patriotic civil servants have thrown away garbage and cigarette butts etc on the street in front of me. They don't think it's a problem because millions of others are doing it anyway! It's sad.
