The government must take the lead. Government own project, there many land in Pakistan that can be used. Government invites foreign investors to invest in the solar panel industry and make a deal with certain project from government that will make them see the investment as profitable. Any way, the labor cost in Pakistan is also cheaper than in many countries.

EV industry infrastructure also must be set up, step by step. So hopefully electricity will use renewable and the cars and motor cyles will not use imported oil any more

yes govmt level its possible as it can achieve economy of scale, and if the PVs can be manufactured on non agri land it can benefit the country including the employment generation...India has been investing a lot of money lately in solar power plants but unfortunately stll lot of equipments are being imported by greedy investors who want to earn quick roi

issue with renewable energy say Solar is up front investment which is quite high...i studied the cost and roi to install solar pv system on my house's roof top, but it didnt make any economic sense, it would have taken 7-10 years to recover the cost against monthly consumption...and not everyone can afford initial investment..i dropped the plan for now and will wait for PV prices to drop further.

That seems like a rate of return of 100/10 to 100/7 percent i.e., 10% to 14%, ignoring depreciation etc., That isn't too shabby.

ya but there is up front cost and maintenance and i have to rely on grid as storing requires batteries which are damn expensive and have just 5 yrs of life

More over, Pakistan has many cheap land, I mean land that is difficult to grow agriculture, I see that kind of land are many and inhabited. This will make solar power investment will be lot cheaper than in other country.

When the scale of business getting bigger, the products will be cheaper, then it can enter civilian market. More over with better technology in the future, this solar panel will be likely to have much better efficiency than current product.

If they dont do now, in the future they will be flooded with imported solar panel
