Pakistan-GCC military cooperation. Is it worthwhile?

Salaam

Our presence there is because the GCC countries want us to be there - the day they want us gone will be the day we will be gone.

With regards to whom they are keeping us there as a guard against - it could be any one from external (Iran or Israel or whatever monster of the week that worries them) or some internal threat. The point is if they are attacked by any party, our forces there will fight to protect them.

With regards to our resources being used up there - I think we all know that each unit deployed there is very well compensated for. Soldiers like getting stationed there because they earn good money there. So stationing troops there adds to our resources than takes away.

I don't see why it would be a hindrance for our cooperation with Turkey/Malaysia group. There are enough people available in GHQ to be able to handle both commitments simultaneously and than some.

Again - we are there because they are actively paying our forces to be there. If they wish us to leave, they'll say so and we'd do so. They don't have to send complicated signals to us.

They invested with Ambanis - but also bailed us out when we really needed a few months ago. If they didn't want us around - why would they help with billions of dollars?

I do not agree that they want us there. All these subtle and not so subtle actions by GCC are giving us the hints to pack our bags, and we should.

As I already mentioned, we cant help them with Iran and with regards to Israel, they are now sharing bed with them. so there is no external threat to them which we can play any part with. If they want us to supress their own people against them, as we did in Bahrain, I would rather not get my men involved in that non sense to be honest. we are not their personal body guards.

You see we are living at a time where all indications and permutations are leading towards war between Pakistan and India over Kashmir. We are outnumbered by 3 to 1 just over LOC. Whatever remuneration our personal are getting there, nothing is more important then the national security of Pakistan. We can recall our personal from GCC citing our own national security. Will give a good message to them as to what Kashmir means to us.

I have not seen any move from Islamabad after Dr Mahatir suggestion. We should invite both Erdogan and Mahatir to Islamabad , both at the same time and iron out some sort of trilateral agreement. With EU model in mind and work towards it. Both Turkey and Malaysia are industrialised nations and they can give us far more benefits, if our establishment put same amount of energy and enthusiasm towards them as they do with GCC.

Your ego filled with ignorance is too much for you, let alone for others..
what are you blabbering about? these words you're throwing around are surprising me because i cant relate to them ("ego filled with ignorance"). if there is a real contradiction in what i said then you can actually point it out, but you didnt cuz you couldnt. i kindly suggest you move on. I made a powerful point to be honest, and your reaction is only confirming it..

What cooperation???
Oil refineries, grants?

We fight for them ... And they in turn give rewards to our mortal Rapistan enemies like Modi???
They give you cash. I'm shocked you dont understand the basis of the strategic relationship between Pakistan and GCC..

I would like to have this discussion based on current geopolitical realities that are staring at us, specially in the aftermath of Kashmir situation and Arab world response to it. No sentimental or emotional non sense, just purely based on merit.

We are not living in 80s or 90s. Our military relation with GCC, particularly with Saudi Arabia was based on the prime and genuine threat from the Zionist entity of Israel. There have been several articles in past, and this has been discussed at length that Pakistan has this unwritten pact with Saudi establishment that we will provide them a nuclear umbrella if it ever comes to that. Well, certainly not against Iran! we ourselves have said that on many occasions that we got nothing to do with this Arab and Persian conflict and have kept ourselves out of it.

Now here is the question, when Arabs themselves are sniffing up the Zionist behind, bending backwards for them, and no one can deny this anymore, what is the actual point of Pakistan-GCC military relationships when we know that from Pakistan point of view, it was never against Iran to begin with? Against who is this military cooperation with Arabs?

Is it not the right time to recall all the men/assets from GCC when Pakistan own national security and interests demands maximum strength shown to India over situation in Kashmir? This can also be extended to the recalling of peace keeping missions all over the global. Everyone is now more less convinced that war with India over Kashmir is not the matter of if but when.

Yes, the protection of Hijaz (not Saudi Arabia) is our religious duty but considering our missile reach, do we really need boots on ground to deal with a scenario where Israel might have some lunatic ideas?

In my opinion, we should start packing our bags from GCC in the name of Pakistan own national security which is of supreme importance.
And don't worry, Israel will never attack hijaz till you have atomic bomb.
So many things you mentioned in op don't apply, never.

Palestine is not our problem its arab israel issue .

It is a palestine-isral isuue, I don't like this "arab" term thrown up to people who hold national passports of dozens of sovereign countries in middle east and north africa. There is no such thing as a trans-international "arab" generalized ethnicity, the only common thing is language and religion. So "arab" of Saudi arabia is NOT same as "arab" of Lebanon, and "arab" of Morocco is NOT same as "arab" of UAE. These are totally different people with varying habits depending on their countries.

If the same language means same people then all "urdu speaking" people in Pakistan are same as hindi speaking Gangus in india because hindi and urdu are "two political names" for the same language by many types of people in ganguland and Pakistan, though its origin is between Delhi and Lucknow area of Ganguland.

In today's world, the only differentiating factor between the people is the "passport" they hold when they travel from one place to another. Only that passport and the country that issued it to the given person is the identity of that person. Gone are days when "language" or "religion" were synonym with "identities" in international relations.

Yeah I know... that's why you are with your government on Kashmir.

I had a very simple question. Uighurs in China are being 'educated'. And as a typical Pakistani, you deflected.

Do you hold the Chinese government accountable to what they are doing to Uighurs. If yes, why do you not protest or why does the Pakistani government not respond and go across the world talking about the same in the UN?

The Pakistani state is an Islamic Republic of Pakistan. If your religion teaches you to fight oppression, why are you not highlighting the case of Uighurs in China in the UN?

There is cooperation they made their choice and we have to made our own with Turkey, Qatar, China and probably Russia.

We are there to protect only two holy cities rest ...we don't care....any more.....

Leave them with their piles which we foolishly gave them by not supporting them against fascist Iran.

I have a simple answer.. As a Muslim, I will raise my voice against injustice anywhere in the world.. This is what my religion teaches me..

If my government is not raising its voice in favor of uighurs, then it's at fault..

Simple.. isn't it?

What do you think about IOK?

So you are saying, the Pakistani state is being hypocritical by not raising its voice for the Uighurs.

As for Kashmir, I believe, the region occupied by Pakistan needs to be returned back to India. Very simple. And its an internal affair.

Loll.. bass khatam hogaee insaaniyat?

Let us be clear. The Indian State is within its rights to enforce its laws within its territorial boundaries. Insaniyat also exists in Balochistan, FATA and Xinjiang. Wonder, why the insaniyat does not show in the UN by Pakistan for them?

At-least, I am not being hypocritical, unlike the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Loll.. you know you are a hypocrite... but you don't want to accept it..
Baluchistan and FATA? mostly peaceful, few miscreants, they come from Afghanistan, fight, go back..
Kashmir.. most of the population doesn't want to live with you.. Insaniyat demands that you give them right of self determination.. but here your insaniyat dies..
