What defense pact? The one for "sharing mutual beneficial information and training in the future"? That's not a defense pact, it doesn't even call out a BULLET to be fired by either party in a way to defense either one, let alone calling this a "defense pact". It is at its best a MOU. MOU isn't a defense pact. For feeling good, countries like India would name it as such.
The Saudi's expecting India to "protect" themselves is stupid to be honest (when their own air force alone operates MUCH more advanced jets and has been doing do for decades before India actually got a 4th gen fighter like an SU-30).
