For us PAF History buffs, the gentleman at the far left of the first tow pics, is none other than that Air Marshal Sharbat Ali Changezi who shot down IAF Hunter over Lahore in one of the most famous Dogfights of the 1965 war, and shared his fighter culture with India.

Americans themselves may not be that confident in 1990s when they were at the peak and there was no challenger at sight. 3 decades later China has reached from top 15 economies to second largest economy. China's economy is now larger then entire European Union put together. Technologically its catching up really fast in areas where its still behind. It is definitely ahead in several areas for example hypersonic weapons. Its the only nation on earth that has its very own space station. It has only one ambition to become next super power of the world and all trajectories are pointing to it. So, its not light years.

There are many other factors which US enjoys at the moment for granted but those will not remain forever. For example, the hegemony over global economy, already for the first time countries have started trading in their own currencies. Secondly a lot of Oil. Oil is an immense power, US is largest producer of oil. Its industrial revolution and strength in last 2 centuries were backed by its home produced oil. Now when Alaska is dried out of oil and world will run out of major oil production half way through the century. On the other hand, China has to import oil, its all investments are towards alternatives, EVs, and likes. Its the one country, most prepared to see the world once global oil supplies will start to vanish. Anyways, this off topic would go too long. So i will just end here and I would just say that China is the next super power and this is the writing on the wall.
