Pakistan expresses concern over Indian aggression with US

WASHINGTON - Pakistan has conveyed its deep concern to the United States over the continued Indian aggression along the Kashmir Line of Control (LoC) in the Kashmir region that has claimed a dozen lives and struck a blow to the South Asian peace prospects.

“The LoC ceasefire violations are a setback to Pakistani peace overtures”, Islamabad's Ambassador to the US Jalil Abbas Jilani told a Pakistani TV news channel.

“We expected a positive response to our peace offer but what has now happened along the LoC and the Working Boundary (WB) contradicts what the new Indian government had indicated in terms of having a peaceful relationship with Pakistan for economic development of the region”, he said. Pakistan, he said, has taken up this matter of violations with the United Nations and in several world capitals.

“We have conveyed our position and concerns in this regard to the highest level at the State Department that Pakistan wants an immediate end to the ceasefire violations through dialogue”, he said.

Besides, Pakistan has delivered a formal letter to the UN, addressed to the secretary general, requesting that it be circulated be as official UN document so that Islamabad's concerns are relayed to the world.

The tension is in nobody's interest, Ambassador Jilani said, adding that Islamabad would be willing to have an impartial investigation into ceasefire violations, which continued through the last week.

For example, he said that the UN Military Observers Group for India and Pakistan could be entrusted with the responsibility. Pakistan will be ready for such a neutral step.

I really feel bad for Pakistan; I really do. In my interactions with Pakistanis - almost all universally have been largely nice people. Their military needs to be sorted - they are a bunch of hawks who screw up with India everytime through overt or covert ops and then expect their poor civilian leadership to clean up the mess.

Earlier most of our PMs have pakistan legacies i.e they have their roots in one or other places of Pakistan, but Modi is different. He has only one objective to make India secure and develop. So stop the terrorist activities.

Exactly my point. Their civilian government is clueless about the adventurism of their Armed Forces. I mean they hung a Prime Minister and sent one to exile. They are crying to the UN because now they want hostilities to end; I guess they did not expect such a strong response. For eons, they've taken the reluctance of our Government to respond as a sign of weakness. A lack of political will showed India as weak. After Mumbai, I was expecting some form of response but the fools went to the U.S. Why would the U.S. care so much?

Anyways, it is upto the Pakistani people to realize that their Armed Forces are nothing but a bunch of bullies and while they can bully their own citizens because of their sheer size, what happens when a bully meets an even bigger bully? He shuts up and plays the victim card. That's what Pakistan is doing right now and instead of the military doing it, they are making their poor civilian leadership do it.
