Pakistan expels Indian embassy staff member
Islamabad : Pakistan has ordered the expulsion of an Indian High Commission staff member Ashok Sharma on spying charges, local TV channels reported on Sunday.
The Indian High Commissions official Ashok Sharma was expelled after he was accused of involvement in suspicious activities, Dunya TV reported.
He was handed over to the Indian authorities the other day on Wagha Border.
According to the sources, Ashok Sharma was found to be involved in suspicious activities for a long time and was under Pakistani agencies' observation.
Meanwhile, an Indian citizen Talwinder Singh was banned from entering Pakistan.
Talwinder came to Pakistan in 2009 to attend the Baisakhi festival and was found to be involved in suspicious activities.
He tried to cross the Pakistani border on Saturday but was traced by modern tracking system PISCES (Personal Identification Secure Comparison and Evaluation System).
The expulsion came at a time when the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said he has succeeded to begin talks with Pakistan.
Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani visited India at the Invitation of Mr Singh to watch a cricket match between the cricket teams of the two countries, the step was welcomed by the world community.
