Pakistan Denies Operation in N. Waziristan

All I am saying is that we should focus our war on TTP because they are the ones conducting terrorism within Pakistan. The Afghan Taliban are not attacking Pakistan, but they will certainly do so if we provoke them.

The Americans have their priorities and we have ours.

if you strongly feel that NATO is behind the terrorism, then why doesnt Pakistan go after NATO rather than the TTP!!!
go after the hand that feeds the TTP:undecided:

Anyone tell me, Why America and NATO, not launching any big Operations in Afghanistan:? No Khandhar operation, no Halmand operation, nothing big in north afghanistan or other provinces where Taliban has 70% control, we want to have those operations first, why Ameican Generals have rejected them, why are they not doing any operations, whats the problem?

Help me!!!

Nothing is going to happen when Pakistan has an open border with Afghanistan, & all the Al-Qaeda terrorists are shielded by their fellow TTP affiliates when they infiltrate into Pakistan from Northern Afghanistan. NATO Forces must demonstrate that they are willing to destroy these safe havens in Afghanistan if they are sincere in fighting this WOT.

I have come to know about the North Waziristan 'Operation' from media, I am the in-charge of all the Military Operations being carried out in Tribal areas, how come I'm not aware of the so called operation? No orders have been given to launch a operation in North Wazrisitan and I reject all the reports. At the moment NW is ''Calm and Peaceful''.

I'll assume it is a rhetorical question.

The General is right.

Media hype will only cramp the operations and it will only be a damp squib.

When that happens, the media will have a field day criticising all and sundry!

do you have any idea how many resources have to be divested in order to foster to and be sufficient for an (inevitable) IDP crisis --which we've already faced several times? These ops are not a walk in the park, simply because of the fallout that must be managed as well. This would be on our own initiative; not because it pleases everybody.

and its very dumb to talk about ''aid'' or any of that.....if you look at the actual figures, what Pakistan has been given is peanuts. And in this case I personally don't believe we need or should take ''aid'' of any sort. Pakistan should stand up on its own feet because it is inevitable that we are an ''ally'' today and an absolute ''stranger'' tomorrow --judging from some rather unfortunate history.

So, on one hand you are saying that TTP terrorists are being funded and backed by foreign powers and on the other hand you are against an operation that goes after TTP in NWA. At least make sure to get your lies in order before trying to peddle your pro-terrorist propaganda.

TTP are being funded by 'third parties' - they have logistical, financial and intel support. CIA has currently 3000 'proxy' terrorists hunters (or sponsored terrorists, look at the case of Davis/black water - do not be surprised if a false flag is being engineered). The CIA has a vast history of distabalising and undermining nations in its own interest. NATO intelligence agencies will do the same - who is resurrecting the BLA? and other anti-pakistan elements?

You mentioned lies, what lies (people like you do not and cannot handle the truth). The TRUTH is any current operation in NW will result in over 350,000 people displaced and many innocents killed - this then becomes a RECRUITING SEARGENTS FOR FURTHER TERRORIST CAUSES. - UNDERSTAND THIS CONCEPT.
The most powerful military superpower with the most powerfull military alliance(NATO) has not been able to subdue the so-called terrorists outfits in Afghanistan. Currently 70% of the territory is in the hand of non-NATO/US forces, despite MASSIVE FIREPOWER AND FINANCIAL RESOURCES (estimated cost $3 Trillion). LOOK AT THE US/NATO/ISAF forces - NO MILITARY SOLUTION, THEY ARE IN DIRECT TALKS with the TALIBAN????

Why should Pakistan with very limited resources embark on an adventure that could potentially further distabalise the country? Stop peddling you bullshit war mongering of mainly your own citizens!!! TTP could be destroyed by having calculated/patient strategy and not on any given foreign pressure!!!

Pakistan needs to locate and COVERTLY take the terrorists (with surgical strikes once real intelligence is provided). Pakistan needs to generate the support of its people and not isolate them. NOTE PAKISTAN PUBLIC OPINION IS ANTI-US and any current ACTION WILL BE SEEN AS BEING US/NATOs B**CH!I'll REITERATE FOR YOU AGAIN - -LOOOK AT THE US/NATO/ISAF record over a 10 year conflict with 'terrorists' - - it is well know they have lost the WAR?...what makes you think Pakistan (with its corrupt military/civilan Hirearchy) will do any BETTER???

I DESPISE ALL TERRORISTS and they need to be locked up/destroyed - BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF INNOCENT PEOPLE AND AT THE DESTRUCTION OF YOUR OWN COUNTRY. ALSO WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM AND your average terrorist?

It is pragmatically necessary to secure "law and order" to have a safer environment within which to build roads, power plants, schools, homes, light and heavy industries.

The old style process of bacheese and tribal protections will not suffice now that the violent Taliban, backed by al Qaida, are determined to win or die trying.

I would like a few shares of stock in a funeral furnace to dispose of terrorists once killed, that is the level to which this clean up has to reach.

Eagle

The state and her institutions share much of what the so called terrorists are about -- it's isn't just certain locations - the infection, the malignancy is of a general character - having said that, beginning with bloodshed while leaving the infrastructure which creates and perpetuates extremism in society, is a cure worse than the disease.

So, you suggest that all should sit pretty and let the cancer spread so that you finally die because of your own cells going bad?

OK fine.

What is the solution that you suggest?

I am not suggesting this, Pakistan needs to deal with All terrorists (including STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM initiated by CIA etc). pakistan needs to be pro-active and eliminate in the best possible way of destroying the terrorist infrastructure - COVERT Raids on terrorists hideouts etc. not an all out war in which due to the nature of war, innocents will get killed in the crossfire. Those families of the innocents killed will then be prime recruitment for the terrorists conflict. It will become tit for tat and then you have the chance of being in the same fate as US/NATO forces in Afghanistan. LOOK at the Afghan conflict - after 10 years of conflict, its still unwinnable for them. Why does pak need to follow this failed route?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear a thousand battles. If you know yourself and not the enemy, for every victory you will suffer a defeat. But if you know neither yourself nor the enemy, then you are a fool and will meet defeat in every battle”. Sun Tzu

Pakistan needs to know its enemies - Internal or External......and then try to eliminate them! wisdom and calculated strategy is required!

Much of the American/Nato failure in Afghanistan has to do with the lack of real interest the west has in Afghanistan...Pakistan on the other requires the terrorist to be dealt with, in order to preserve its existence.
Why are people failing to understand the stakes...we are not going to survive in our current form if we ignore this problem, it wont be easy, and it will be bloody...but for once, Pakistan must sacrifice its current stability(which exists in name mainly) to ensure a prosperous future. The Americans will leave Afghanistan and it will make no difference to them, we cant just leave...this is our region, we owe it to ourselves to do whatever is necessary to preserve it. Everything else is an excuse to delay the inevitable pain and suffering that such a conflict will entail, but if it is avoided any further, we will lose Pakistan to the extremist wing and then the pain and suffering will be far worse.

Here we go again, same old same old excuses and failure to act against the violent bloody terrorists inside Pakistan. I think our US Congress should now freeze funds for the military of Pakistan as a counter measure to such cowardace.

MOHAMMAD GAT (Mohmand Agency),: One of Pakistan’s top military commanders ruled out on Wednesday an imminent offensive in North Waziristan, contradicting reports that the country had agreed to assault the militant-infested region following pressure from the United States.

Addressing a news conference in Mohmand Agency, Lt-Gen Asif Yasin Malik, commander of the 11th corps based in Peshawar, said there was no change in his forces’ posture in the last weeks.

“I have no such plans as far as I am concerned,” he told reporters. “We will undertake operations when we want to do it, when it is militarily and otherwise in the national interest to undertake such operations.”

Gen Malik sought to play down ‘media hype’ over the prospect of an imminent military offensive to meet US interests in North Waziristan.

“There has been a lot of media hype about the operation,” said Gen Malik. “I do not operate on press reports. I get orders from my high command,” he said in response to a question.

The remote, mountainous region has attracted major interest in the United States as a fiefdom of the Haqqani network, one of its most potent enemies across the border in Afghanistan and thought to have a core of 4,000 fighters.

Asked about the Haqqanis, Gen Malik hit back: “We are misusing the word ‘network’. It does not become a network if four people sit together somewhere.”

Instead he said the military was focused on maintaining an already ‘stable’ environment to undertake ‘developmental activity’ in North Waziristan, and confirmed reports that a cadet college in the area had been reopened.

The army had closed the college at Razmak after the Taliban briefly kidnapped 46 students and two staff in June 2009 as they were going home at the start of the summer holidays.—Agencies
