I think this is a realy smart move if we really get success in decreasing the rates.

Try to understand that the issue with IPP is a policy level corruption. There is no straight forward corruption but the rules were made to make the richer more rich however the justifocation given foe excess profit will be no other option etc eyc.

Legally the case will be really weak just like qatar gas. In such type if deal there is lack of free market therefore u can always get away under the issues of risk involved, no other option etc.

So rather than going legally its better to arm twist IPPs to get a commercial benefit

that's why I ha been saying that genral pasha need to stand accountable for grooming this brainless edict ,and genral Jillani for grooming NS, I believe time is coming when establishment will rectify all it's mistakes in a one go and will eradicate all filth from the face of motherland and this will be the best kafara of their previous negligences and time is right to do the task, champions of democracy are busy with covid 19 and socialist china , come on establishment it's best time don't miss the opportunity clean this all filth accumulated over the years just in one swift go, it is time to pay the kafara of all the previous negligences, May Allah's Guidance be with you,

Many Pakistani politicians, general public and media don't fully understand how the electric power industry functions. They allege corruption for things that are routine practice all over the world. I recall a poster on PDF a few months ago alleging that capacity payments made to power plants was corruption (just as in this article)...... this is routine practice globally but you need to understand the power system to know why. GOP should be cautious before starting corruption inquiries based on lack of understanding by lay people.

you can make the case for new contracts at any rate you may feel as just.

We will see that. 2 months time is taken to decrease the existing rates which will lower down the standard rates. Plus these issues were previously not even diacussed now are being studied and reported.

This organized crime is way more difficult to address and fight against. You need experts to draft policies and keep updating them regularly.

That is the precise double standard I don't understand from some posters here. Attacking IK for every tiny pseudo-mistake but then completely blind / silent that the alternative is a million times worse.

As if a government of angels is waiting to descend all of a sudden, after endless ages of corruption that brought Pakistan to the brink of a failed state.
