total is 777 Bn rs which means 9.5 Bn USD..
making 5.1% when the gdp is 185Bn..

that's too much 5.1% of gdp. but i think some amt. is given by america for anti-terriost operation.

i think usa is giving $1.2 billion per year to pakistan. so how can u include both amt. in 120 billion rupee.

The defense budget hike was very much expected but I never thought it would be his high. Right now, looking at the economy, this is not the best of the decisions.

Pakistan could have diverted some of the money into coal operations, port development, social development. But in the end its your money, your wish.

india is also spending $32 billion every year. but it's only a 2.5 % of total gdp.

No it is not like that. Their is a little difference between rise defense budget rise for national security and jingoism or arms race.

Forget Naxals. The area next to our Western border is considered the most dangerous part of the world.. We need to plan for the contingency that Pakistan is not able to defeat the instruments of extremism that are on the rise in its areasbordering with Iran and Afghanistan

On the eastern front we have a much larger neighbour who has given us a drubbing once in the past..

So we have national security concerns too
