Pakistan Declares Public Holidays On Holi, Diwali and Easter

.
In India they did the same thing what you mentioned, we already have many holidays but i think declaring it as Public holiday for minority celebrations makes them more happy and more in mainstream.
You are misinformed.
All the major festivals of minorities like Eid, Christmas etc are off for everyone. Its a national holiday.

The minor festivals of minorities are only off for that minority.

.
Orthodox Christians dont even make 0.1% of Pakistan and Hindus make around 1-2%

A nationwide holiday shouldnt be declared for people who make up 1% of our population.

Muslims make up 10% of the French population and they dont have 'national holidays' - there are many more examples.

The Hawks in Indian Establishment would say it is bad for India. We want a violence loving Pakistan. For India, as an enemy, it was far better for Pakistan the way it was - Islam, blasphemy killings, beheadings and jihad. Keeps the pot boiling and enemy distracted.
screw you guys. we never wish for things like this in india. if anything im sad over the rising intolerance in india.
shouldn't've been.

What in hell is happening in Pakistan.

It is trying to change by giving rights to women and a little dignity to minorities.

The Doves in Indian Establishment would say it is good for India. We want a peace loving Pakistan. Invested in societal peace and trade. Change the enemy's nature and priorities step by step.

One thing is for sure - No one in India would have thought Nawaz would try to change Pakistan. We have been more comfortable with the Pakistan as we know it.

The question remains open for India though - are the Hawks right or the Doves.
Who to believe. Both make sound arguments.
Maybe you should tell your Hawks that Terrorism Index in Pakistan has been decreasing but increasing in India (India is already 6th)

Also tell them that Failed State index has been significantly decreasing in Pakistan but increasing in India.

And similarly, French should look upto Saudis to see how they repress and kill anyone for the "crime" of converting to Christianity and act accordingly against Muslims of France.

If you look for bad examples, you will find them. If you look for good examples, you will find them too. Then again, I have no doubt you are one of the kind of Muslims that support the beheading for the 'crime' that Charlie Hebdo did.

Well, it is the Government's job to keep us safe. The Bureacracy is the real establishment in India. They are supposed to look at things very clinically, not from a humane/evil point of view.

There are two very declared groups in the Government, both have very logical and thought out solutions and views on which direction India must push Pakistan towards. It depends on the Government of the day to decide(political call) over which side's strategy is chosen.

This has nothing to do with what the 'common people' want per se.

On your last line, I agree partially, it is also partly media exagerating. The english mainstream media in India is very Congress oriented.

If marketed proficiently abroad, it could act as an image improvement factor to change the perspective of the country. Let's face it, Pakistan, albeit unfairly, has a very negative image when it comes to the global layman's perspective. It might not be as much as political correctness implementation for the minorities but as an image re-branding measure.

G.O.P, is slowly, slowly pushing illiterate Mullahs back into caves of stone ages where they belong.

Once again you are presenting India, not Pakistan.

We are not eating our minorities like Hindutva b!tches are.

. . .
This is ridiculous. The minorities are like 2-3% of the population, i do agree they should be given a holiday on their festivals but to announce a nationwide holiday on these events is just stupid.
I think it's a welcome move, Even a 2-3% of 192,826,502 is about 5.7 million people, that is a big number, bigger than the populations of countries like denmark, singapore, norway, and finaland to name a few, OR bigger than 4 times the population of Bahrain.

Holidays should always be welcomed, who cares what it is given for. Ideally our life should be full of holidays and only few working days. Its only we have a created a big warped society that values only money due to which we sacrifice our freedom of living for slogging.
No discrimination please provide a holiday for extra-terrestrial alien festival too!:D
