The man is a respected name in his field, and he doesn’t need to be involved in weapons research directly, when his bread and butter deals with the complex processes involved within the field of nuclear research.

You obviously do not know this but you no longer need high yield weapons due to the increased accuracy of delivery systems. 2 200kT bombs are much more destructive than a single 600kT bomb. So making a 600kT bomb for mere city busting is pointless. You'd do even better dropping 5 40kT nukes on a city.

Its not like Pakistan will stop at 250, but will keep going indefinitely if the need arises. If by 2050 Pakistan has 1000 warheads of one megaton yield each; striking that many targets on each side would do so much damage that nuclear winter would get the rest of the population, and take the whole world with it.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. Your country, your decisions. That said it hardly matters whether you have 100 or 300 or 1000, you are never going to get Kashmir, assuming that is your endgame.

You were the one who brought up yield. You don't use large yield fission bombs because it's too big, uses too much fuel, very unsafe and too heavy and large to be used in missiles. There were plenty of such nukes made, but ended up only as experimental nukes and not operational nukes, this includes your Orange Herald example. There are many more of that size.

What you really have are below 50kT nukes. Why? Because it makes sense.

And yes, people can be easily dismissed when the person himself has dismissed himself. Just let him know Pak does not have thermonukes and he will change his post.

All the fallout will simply get washed away into the ocean. An oil spill is more dangerous than a nuclear bomb when it comes to water. Also, you will find more uranium in river water naturally than you can get with a nuclear bomb.

Basically a waste of multiple nuclear devices. All you will do is make small lakes somewhere in the hills and mountains.
