Here is what you seemingly do not understand...

For a country that must import its defense, you do not drop a supplier unless you are ABSOLUTELY secured of an alternate supplier.

Mock the F-16 all you want. The reality is that the F-16 is STILL the standard to meet in terms of versatility, longevity, and reliability. Is your potential new supplier readied ?

Turkey do manufacture spare parts of f-16.

What do you mean by "Could"?Pakistan should do it.F16 lovers can go to hell...

f-16 blk 52 is the most advanced jet among the whole pakistani or chinese inventory(excluding 5th gen planes).

Pk can purchase FC-31 from it's eastern ally.

Take S-400 and down their bomber-drones asap.

Fk USA !
Pakistan has the equipment to shoot down drones with relative ease, such as thousands of manpads (mostly indigenous), AAGs and a dozens of AA batteries (more on way). But Pakistan is hesitant to divert these important assets from our main enemy, which is India. This is exactly what India wants, and we won't give it to them.

fake news.... That's never gonna happen now maybe after 5-8 years

Classic case of "Angoor khatte hain". Pakistan cannot let go of american supplies as their whole military complex is built on and by americans infrastructure.

The obvious alternative is China to the US.

Maybe Chinese hardware has improved to the point where Pakistan feels comfortable moving on from the US for its qualitative needs.

I have my doubts about quality and capability in regards to the Chinese options.

The F-16 as old as it is, is a proven and capable platform to this day. It's a shame for Pakistan that political realities don't allow it to expand its F-16 inventory much like it did for its Mirages with second hand examples.

General Bajwa meets US officials visiting Pakistan for advanced defense cooperation..............!

US Department of Defence’s Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organisation (JIDO) Director Lieutenant General Michael Shields led a four-member delegation on a three-day visit to Pakistan during this week.

This was General Shields’ second visit to Pakistan as the JIDO director, said a press release here on Friday. During the visit, the visiting general and the delegation met with Pakistan’s Army’s Chief of General Staff, the Director General of Military Operations, and officials from the Interior Ministry.
General Shields also met with the chairman of the Pakistan Army’s Counter Improvised Explosive Device Organisation (CIEDO) to discuss initiatives, training, and other areas of military cooperation between Pakistan and the US.
General Shields also visited the Counter IED, Explosives, and Munitions School (CEMS) at the Military College of Engineering in Risalpur. On his visit to Risalpur, the commandant of the Military College of Engineering briefed the American delegation on their efforts to train soldiers to detect and neutralize IEDs and other emerging battlefield and operational threats.

“I greatly appreciated the opportunity to meet Pakistani leaders to discuss our mutual efforts to combat the IED threat,” General Shields said. “It is a complex issue that requires all of our collective efforts. I look forward to continuing our collaboration with Pakistan and with CIEDO.”

Well, Pakistan is keen on acquiring the J-31 as a replacement for F-16s as soon as it's available, which still years away. Nevertheless, I see your point. But it's less about acquiring new frames (or even used ones), and more about maintaining existing fleet. I'm sure PAF has a healthy supply of spare parts on hand, but what about armament, especially for COIN ops? Is JF-17 ready to fill that role?
The forum's Pakistanis who cheers for the rejection of the F-16 as front line combatants are doing it out of their childish need to poke at the US, not because they have any real understanding of military affairs in general, let alone air force in specifics.

Despite the JF-17, which is a joint venture with China, Pakistan do not have a viable native military aviation industry. The reason why countries must import their defense is because defense is an immediate need, not one that can wait for indigenous development and maturity. Therefore, before the rejection of one source must be after the security of an alternate. Everything else, like spare parts and ordnance, are peripheral.

I fully respect Pakistan's decision to reject the US as source for Pakistan's defense needs, if it ever comes to that.

Pakistan should reject USA for defence needs. China is a much reliable supplier

I hope the PAF takes your advice, which am sure came from extensive personal experience in military aviation.
