Sir baktar shikhan is a very good weapon , even the Americans still use the TOW , yet all premier mechanized divisions, Commando bats, Airborne heli assault and new IFV like viper ( for shoot and scoot ) should have the long range omtas fire and forget ,Yes , I said we heavy strike fighter , ,, This is what I am saying from day one and I stand with my words,,,,,,,,,,
- Buy and build SAMs in huge numbers Lr-SAMs , Mr-SAMs and Sr-SAMs with proper range .
- Upgrade Lahore and Gujranwala Corps to Mechanized Corps …. Buy and Build IFVs and AFVs in number for them.
- Get rid of Buakter shikan now …… Time to have fire and forget ATGM
- Buy 4.5++ Gen heavy , we need it for deep strike , Ideal situation will be replacing Mirages with J-16 .
- JF-17 is a great bird , A blessing for Pakistan ,,,, but it is a light category aircraft and relying on only one bird will be suicide , Better to have Medium bird (more F-16s if not possible buy new one J-10 , or we can replace Mirages with J-10)
According to sources in Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence Production, the South Asian State’s armed forces are considering the acquisition of four units of HQ-9B (FD-2000) surface to air missile systems from China to enhance the country’s air defence network. The country currently relies heavily on the medium ranged HQ-16 (LY-80) system to protect its airspace, though it was long speculated that this would be followed by a purchase of a longer ranged system given the closeness of defence cooperation between the two neighbouring powers and the increasing emphasis Pakistani doctrine has placed on air defence. The HQ-9B is among the most capable long range air defence systems in the world, and was recently deployed by China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to the South China Sea to safeguard the country’s territorial claims and protect outlying artificial islands.

Brother.
In the wake of powerful S-400 ,
Pakistan really need something,to combat India in current war of 2019.
Did Pakistan talked/contracted/signed any contract with China, to get,
four units of HQ-9B (FD-2000) surface to air missile systems from China ??
What did you mean 4 unitsa??
I also think that the LY-80 purchase was not a good decision. With a 40km range and only 6x missiles per TEL, it neither has enough missiles for saturation. Pakistan should instead have gone for a combination of the FM-3000 QRSAM that has a 30km range and 8x missiles per TEL and the FK-1000 CIWS which has 12x 22km range Point defense SAMs and 2x 27mm cannons.
For medium range air defence, the best option available is the Russian S-350 Vityaz system. Each TEL carries 12x 120km range 9M96 missiles and can also carry the 40km range 9M96E both of which are highly maneuvrable missiles. It is as capable as the PAC3 and can shoot down ballistic missiles (9M96) and PGMs (9M96E).
If the Russians aren't willing to sell the S-350, which is unlikely, then Pakistan can procure the Turkish under-development Siper. Problem with the Siper is that it will probably not be available before 2025. If the Chinese come up with a SAM system similar to the S-350 in range and missile load, then it could be a good choice too.
Pakistan has a few HQ-9s from 2010 i think they want a larger number of latest B version for cities as missile attacks become reality.
Keep Turkey in your mind for she's keeping no stones unturned to achieve this capability using both imported and domestic systems. Couple them with indigenous long-range EW systems (based on land, air via HALE UAVs, and sea) and you can have a better 24/7 automated protection...This. Time to wake up and work hard. Very hard. Invest in a foolproof security for years to come.
If possible Pak should acquire some form of ToT with the help of China. Making such SAM systems at home could help a lot.
Can CAFRAD be used for Air base protection?Keep Turkey in your mind for she's keeping no stones unturned to achieve this capability using both imported and domestic systems. Turkish systems (Land: developed; Sea: in tests; Air in development):
CAFRAD is used in ships, but in net centric arrangement with all other assets in ground and air to give a full coverage...Can CAFRAD be used for Air base protection?
